It's sad. This machine is on a garbage bin and all dirty. Looks like the owner may have picked this up from the side of the road. its not worth $175! I paid a lousy $10 for my beige G3 about 6 years ago.. and it was clean, came with everything i neede minus the monitor and working!

This seems worth it.

Thats not a terrible price for an iMac, a bit high, but I've seen people buy those well over $100.

Thought I'd share my fresh tale of woe from eBay. Found a 700MHz iMac G4 and offered a price of $30 as a best offer; it looked like the arm was a bit bent, but nothing I probably couldn't sort out.

The package arrived today, and the seller literally just stuck the iMac in a big box with two feet of paper wadding. Needless to say the lack of cushion or any method of preventing the machine from sliding about during transit did a number on it—the monitor lists to the side like a drunken sailor, and the metal sheath on the arm is hopelessly messed up.

I cannot understand how this seller has a 100% positive feedback from 20 people if they cannot figure out how to ship something.

Its just careless. Clearly even $30 wasnt enough for him to care to package it properly. Which is sad in my opinion. Can you post a photo? im curious to see exactly what has been damaged?

I read this in Borat's voice. "When I trying to make a upgrade...for make good glorious nation of Khazakstan."

Wow, if they sell it for 3000 I'm putting mine up. This really shows how stupid people are...

Off topic...but I can't help but notice you have windows 10 on a Dell Dimension 4700! How does it handle?

I once put Windows 7 32bit on a Dell Dimension 8200 (The contemporary rival to my 1GHz DP Quicksilver!) with 3.2GHz Pentium 4, 2GB RAM and a newly installed nVidia 7600GT. After updating it to the latest service pack, the performance so nearly to unbearable. It's my dad's old machine so he has some nostalgia to it. He spent a fortune on it back in the day! That's why I was giving it a new bit of life. But I ended up having to go back to XP :/

Side Note: I wonder if having a Dual Processor machine like my 1GHz Quicksilver is an advantage in our modern world that expects dual core at the very least. I assume they do a better job than single core systems?

Let me tell you, other than the fact that the graphics don't work properly thanks to them being embedded (minimal resolutions available), it runs better than XP ever did. Hell, I think it only has like 1GB of RAM installed since I took out a 2GB stick. The fans run a little loud being that it's a lot more straining than XP and it's only a 32bit Pentium 4. Keep in mind, I haven't actually done any super intensive things other than internet browsing and stuff, but I think it runs great. If I put in a SSD, and maxed it out at 4GB of ram, I think that would be just as powerful as a low speced windows 7/8/8.1 computer.

A fully boxed copy of the super rare Windows 1.x comes in at much less than the starting price. Dude is deluded.
