It will run fine. I have the same model and I play it with 1280x720 resolution and Medium settings and it's very playable (about 30fps and more), with Low settings it runs really smoothly. All this with the default bootcamp drivers.

1920x1080 it's about 20 fps and lower and above fullhd it's a slide show even on low settings.

I highly recommend you consider some tutorials on getting a modded AMD Driver though. I have the same setup and I can punch out 1920x1200 on high with ~30fps. It induces the fight or flight response with me at this resolution, I might add. ;)

wait so I should only expect 5% increase in performance with the 6770m vs. the 6750m??

Look at these links:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6750M.43958.0.html
http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6770M.43955.0.html

The only difference between the HD 6750M and the HD 6770M is the clock speed. 600 vs 725MHz.
If you compare the fps achieved by the cards with those games, there is usually a difference of like 5 fps on average.
Crysis 2:
6750M : 77 , 52 , 36, , 12
6770M : 83.8, 56.6, 40.8, 13.4

Anyone try it on a Mid-2010 13in MBP? I can run BF:BC2 on medium settings fine with 40+ FPS, just wondering what it would be like in BF3 on low.

Yeah, that's what I'm figuring, but don't want to spend the 60 bucks if it's not going to work.

Do you have a gaming console (xbox, ps3) ??
way more worth it there.
Id say don't bother buying it for pc. I cant guarantee it will work because I think it says that integrated video cards aren't supported.

Does anyone have a problem with their screen/keyboard shutting off? I can still hear all the sounds and everything but the screen just goes black....

Mid 2010 15in MBP pro here and 800x600 all low gives me 30-60fps with lots of graphic glitching. Overclocking makes higher settings usable but the glitching happens a lot more. Temps are fine so its the game and or drivers.

Do you have the default Boot Camp drivers, or the newest ones from Nvidia?

anyone with a 2011 MBP? what res are you guys running the game on? what settings and what fps?

just a gauge...
im a 2.4ghz quad...4gb ram

OCed to 750/900 at 0.955v

High textures, low shadows, medium everything else. SSAO on, AA off, post AA off, 8x AF.
1280x800 i get 35-60, hovering on 40 most of the time.

I did buy the hi-res option and am starting to regret it. If i had stuck with the original 1440x900 screen perhaps i would've been able to run this game natively (sharper image)....darn it

I do get the need to "tinker" but to try and run a game like BF3 on any apple product and ask it to perform is like asking your everyday car to perform like an Ariel Atom.

Tried the latest three drivers released by Nvidia (Beta included) and its got slightly better with each one in terms of glitching but performance hasn't really changed. Currently using the beta drivers that came out this month. The alpha was unplayable with glitches.

I'm on a 2.2 i7 Macbook Pro with the 1gb 6750m, and I play BFBC 2 on 1280x800 (notice little difference with res on that game always) with 8x AA, 8x AF, and everything high except medium shadows, and I get solid FPS unless I'm being hit by constant explosions (drops to 20s). I hear that BF3 runs better than BFBC2 on many systems.

Anyone think I can run BF3 on high/medium with 4-8xAA and AF at 1280x800 on my computer? Smooth being 35+ FPS on average?

I think you should drop the AA down to 4xAA as 8xAA is quite a hit, but then again it depends on how the AA is applied as in recent games its much more efficient in its use. Ambient Occlusion uses a lot of processing power from what I understand. If I were you I'd drop it down to 2xAA and medium to get a higher resolution as you should defiantly notice it!

You hear it runs better? That's pretty impossible if you ask me. Care to source?

If you're running the 64-bit version of Windows 7, then use this package: http://www2.ati.com/drivers/mobile/11-10_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_ocl.exe

running 8xAA on your machine is pretty ambitious. turn it off and just turn your Post AA to high. does a very good job at antialiasing and not nearly the same performance hit.
Shadows also hurt alot, as does ambient occlusion. SSAO barely makes a difference anyway, turn it off.

So guys, what have we concluded? I'm livid about the latest MBP refresh, as I bought mine early september... So i'm stuck with the 6750. but that all aside....

On the latest drivers (11.10?) what are we seeing? Thinking about getting Battlefield 3, but don't wanna spend money and not have it run.

I've seen anywhere from low to high settings for the MBP 15 in on this thread. (6750) anyone got an final conclusion?

Thanks!!

If you could let me know with/without over clocking the gfx card would be great too. res and AA settings too:D

Did anyone tried the 11.11 driver from ati for the Radeon 6770 ? i cant make them work, i dont know where you guys download the drivers.
i am dowloading 11.10 from the link on this post. i will try to see how it work.
Last question: how can i see on screen the FPS when running B3?

btw how do you know you need to install that package ?(yea im a pretty curious person)

I found a link to the 11.6 drivers on a different forum. It's the only package I've been able to find, from an ATI/AMD source, that's actually updated my drivers instead of just attempting to update. I have not been able to find a way to navigate the ATI/AMD websites to find these drivers, so they're probably not meant for general distribution.

Don't be livid about the 6750m, it's a good mobile GPU. It's also capable of running BF3 on high at a 30 or less framerate. Myself, I run Medium settings, no SSAO, low shadows, and I think 2x or no AA to get a fairly steady 45 fps. The engine is only slightly more taxing than BFBC2.

I read the changelog on 11.11 and didn't see anything about BF3, so there's no reason to update unless 11.10 is giving you problems. If you want 11.11, just change my previous link to say 11-11 instead of 11-10. You can change it like that for future releases: 11-12, 11-13, 11-14 etc...

I read that there's a way to have BF3 draw the fps, running a console command ("Render.DrawFps 1"), but I've never tried it. I use ATI Tray Tools to show that for me. You could also use Fraps to show it.

lol

Funny cause I can run bf3 around 30 fps on all settings low on a macbook air. Game still looks amazing tho.

Anyone having problems AFTER the patch?

I patched my game and now after getting into a game the game will crash after 1 minute of play time.

Game was working perfectly before the patch.

15" MBP
Intel I7 2.3GHZ(Quad)
4GB RAM
6700M Graphics card...

I've tried everything but to no avail.

Post-Patch, Fully Updated Drivers, 12/13/11

Just my .02:

I'm running it on an iMac with a 6970m at 720p on high/ultra with no MSAA and high FXAA, plus the FXAA injector found online.

I get about 40fps all the time and it looks pretty sharp because i tweaked DPI settings on Windows 7. It's not as good as Native, but 2560x1440 is just a JOKE with the setup Apple has. 20-25fps on LOW there. Shame too because it looks so good in screens :(
But other than that this game IS GREAT.

Runs great on all my Mac Pros and MacBookPros :D

Well its not like you game 24/7 right? might be annoying when playing games and you cant run at native res, but when doing work and everything else on your MBP the hi-res is definitely worth it.
I have a hi-res in my 2010 i7, never regretted it one bit, even when playing games and look at the GPU I have (330M) :D
