I play on my 360, I love it. I've been a long time BF player and BC2 is just as fun as the previous games (MP that is). I'm hoping by BF3 I'll have the time and extra cash for a new PC build.

I'd like to know what you guys with the mid 09 MBP 13's thoughts are, playing this game. If you're able to..

Or perhaps what your MBP qualifies for on System Requirements Lab, with Bad Company 2.

Thanks in advance

EDIT: Supposedly some are getting a performance boost changing this:

/BFBC2Beta/settings.ini

In there, if you change:

DxVersion=auto

to

DxVersion=9

Can anyone reiterate on this too, as well?

when the game was released march 2nd, there was tremendous outage on server. then dice, EA have been investigated. they decided to shut server down for a while. now they replaced new server. so everything is fine. I had the same problem last few days. but last night, I had no problem. multiplayer, redeem code, log in process are fine.

That's why the servers have been down most of the day today...

P.S. they didn't fix anything.

to tell you the truth guys BF2 isn't the greatest on my late MBP 13" 2.53G 4GRam... Even on the lowest settings the video card struggles....

I don't know if its a problem with my LCD(LG23") but even if I resize the video display settings to the lowest there continues to be video problems with the rendering.

I was thinking of trying to overclock but I don't think that'll make a difference. You'd probably need a 15 or 17" MBP with the dual video cards.

I'll try to take a screen cap of what happens when theres tons of stuff happening, because in game there is soooooo much happening... especially when you get air support to bomb. I have yet to see airplanes drop anything. All i see is a massacre of colors on my LCD then the after math.

When I first played I was on the medium setting and it lagged like crazy(single player campaign)

If you read the specs on the box the recommended specs would be a quad core which obviously a MBP only has a core 2 duo.

Because of this reason I'm really considering on buying a PS3. I think I'll just return my PC version of BF2BC and copp a PS3 version and not have to worry about graphics problems.

Oh how I wish this game ran perfectly. It gets annoying because you have to guess sometimes on where enemies are.

I still love my MBP btw!

I am playing this game on PS3.It's great. No problem with this game at all still now.If anybody plan to get a copy, don't wait too long because there is still the limited edition available. It has some items that won't be available in the regular edition.

That is a lie. All you get is a few unlocks without having to unlock them, which is stupid. I would rather have the satisfaction of unlocking them myself, and using all the weapons instead of just using the higher up ones.

so I just finished completing the single player campaign on normal... Awesome game... other than that my MBP can't handle too much but it was fun... I wanna go play online but I fully spent like a total of 4 hours playing so I'm a take a rest...

anyone else played it on their MBP?

EA DICE's executive producer Karl Magnus Troedsson, made mention of the announcement on his Twitter account today stating, "Steam for Mac - Gabe, we like it." The Universal Gaming Database questioned Mr.Trodsson about the possibility of future Battlefield games coming to Mac via the new Steam client, Mr.Trodsson stated "We're currently investigating the possibility of making BFBC2 available on Mac."

btw, add Cindori if you'd like.

Does anyone know?

1. is there any indication I've activated a "heal" from a med pack? I know there's no health bar, but I'd like to know that I've activated one when I run close to it.

2. Is there a single change seat button? I see the F keys are used to get into each different seat but I'd rather hotkey one to cycle through all.

3. How does conquest work? are the numbers for each side the tickets for "lives" left? Are they effected by the time you've kept a base for?

1. You will see the "blood smear" disappear, also you might hear a little "pssshh" once fully healed. Kinda sounds like a spray can.

2. F1 driver, F2 gunner (in helos, tanks, Humvee and "Bangbus") or passenger. F3 / F4 / F5 for ther other seats, like in the Bradley and Blackhawk

3. Thats right, its like Rush... the numbers are tickets for "lives". Capturing a flag will reduce the enemys tickets by a fixed amount, so does killing enemy players. The more flags your team holds, the faster the enemy tickets "bleed". Right now the ticket bleed is way too slow, your team can have all the flags but if the other team kills your guys fast / often you might still lose.

PS: Everyone's invited to visit our public server (loc Frankfurt / Germany) - it starts filling at 1pm GMT+1 and is usually well populated until midnight.

Lol, is that what that spray can sound is? I was always thinking "What the hell is with the spray can sound", now I know :p.

PC version is all fine. they mentioned that Xbox 360 version has still remained problem. but it is not for everybody. some percentage of people still can't get access to server without no reason. now, EA has investigated it. so do I care? no. I play PC version. I don't have xbox 360 anyway.

WTF is you post about? My post was two days ago, and YES two days ago on a PC you could not connect for 18/24 hrs that day.

Been playing on a PS3, loving it! :) Haven't had any server issues except for the scheduled maintenance which should be done in forty-five minutes and I'll get back into the action :cool:

I tell you what. macbook or macbook pro is not designed for gaming. as matter of fact, dedicated graphic card is old, weak. macbook (pro) 13inch graphic can't handle high demanding visual gaming. period. NVIDIA 9400M is third class graphic card. in that category, this graphic card is ranked below middle. so don't play serious game. if you want to play, you should have at least NVIDIA 9800GT (512MB) or better. don't expect your ****** macbook 13inch. last thing you should know is that gaming is not affected by processor speed or memory (nowadays, all computer equips proper system like core 2 duo, 4GB memory). graphic card is determined whether you can play game or not. even I have macbook pro, I don't play game on it. I proper to play it on PC. it's much better. get PC for gaming. it's true.

well, during two days, something has been changed, updated. if you don't follow twitter, you have no idea. now, as I said, PC version is OK. still some xbox 360 users have connection problem anyway. don't argue with me. I know better than you.

You know better than me because you follow twitter? Let me guess if, Bush, twittered back in 2002 and said that we were going to invade Iraq due to WMD - you'd probably believe that too? You also state that something has changed, yet you don't know what it is - you know better than me? HA!

Obviously you have no clue what you are talking about. You don't know better then me, trust me. ;)

BBC2 on 2006 Mac Pro 1,1

I'm just curious. I bought BBC2 for Windows instead of Xbox so I could play a few mates who are hardcore Battlefield fanatics, but I've not been able to play for more than 5 minutes without the game freezing or completely crashing my Mac Pro.

I'm running Windows 7, with 7GB of ram and a X1900 graphics card.

Below are my BBC2 settings:

[WindowSettings]
Width=1280
Height=720
Fullscreen=true
RefreshRate=60
VSync=false
[Sound]
Quality=low
VoipEnable=false
SpeakerCount=0
[Graphics]
Effects=medium
Soldiers=medium
Vehicles=medium
Overgrowth=medium
Undergrowth=medium
StaticObjects=medium
Terrain=medium
Shadows=medium
Bloom=true
HSAO=false
MSAA=0
Water=medium
MainQuality=medium
Texture=medium
DxVersion=9
Aniso=2
Detail=medium
RenderAheadLimit=2
Fov=55

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

The X1900 is ancient at this point. You're not going to get any driver love from ATI. Check your GPU temperatures.

I'd increase your FOV to 90 as well.
