I want Jay & Conan

I wish they'd make Jay Leno and Conan O'Brian episodes available for iTMS Germany. They used to come on TV here, until they replaced it with some ****** Giga-Internet-TV show that seems to air 24/7, and is as boring as watching paint dry.
Of course thats never going to happen, as there are probably a million legal reasons why that would be difficult, but a man can dream, a man can dream...

Awesome, this is definitely great news! I just want to see them get the daily show!

Yeah. Since I can't get digital terrestrial TV where I am, and I'm not prepared to put a butt ugly chavvy dish on my house, I'd love some of the freeview BBC and channel 4 shows that they keep advertising frustratingly on the analogue services.

I've heard others complain...

... but I find the iTunes tv show episodes to be of rather high quality.

I don't have an iPod video, and I haven't dled any of their episodes until now (as they now have BSG!). Whatever resolution they use, I went full screen on a 23" LCD and picture quality was great.

I only want two things:
a) streaming to one's TV (airport express 2.0 or somesuch)
b) widescreen? (I thought BSG was 16x9, perhaps not...)

Who knows what January and MacWorld will bring...

from what i understand ---

streaming -

if you have a Mac say upstairs ie powermac and a iMac with iSight downstairs plugged into say your TV then what you can do is this.

connect via network to your Powermac and open the movie - save as a referenced movie to your MOVIE in finder and then open Front Row

it will stream from your Powermac in full screen and saving your iMacs Hard drive

Widescreen --

from what i understand most of the TV shows are set for 320x240 format ?
- i am converting my DVD collection to the native size but at 1000kps bitrates in Mp4 - (ready for the new Mac Mini with Front Row)

i am sure this will look great

Monk!

That just made my day, since I can catch up on the couple episodes this season I missed. It'd be nice if they were a buck each instead of two, but I'll take what I can get.

Now if they ever get the animated Tick series on there, I will personally drive to Apple's HQ and kiss whoever negotiates media rights for the iTMS.

Excellent news! I had a hunch that this would be coming soon, and it's great that Apple has done this prior to Xmas. For starters, due to potentially increased Xmas sales, but also because that's one less thing then that they have to announce at MWSF, making more room for other great announcements! ;)

Just waiting for the likes of Fox and CBS to jump on board now...

Ummm Conan sucks, what happened to the Apprentice shows people??? Oh well at least they got the Office, I can catch up on that.

ok, i was thinking...

...what about downloading from a US proxy ?

i mean is this too risky because your private info goes through someone else's node, or is it just impossible ?

this way non US people could have the prices and choice of americans, right ?

where am i wrong ?

 Conan rocks! How can anyone not like Conan O'Brian! :)

All available ONLY on the world's smallest movie player. (Don't get me started on desktop or laptop playback.)
Dang it I want a PMP with a 4" screen. I've seen the iPod with video. It's too small IMHO for watching TV.

Conan is a comic genius, but I understand if you don't like his style - it's not for everyone. I enjoyed his work way back with SNL and the Simpsons though, years before he even had his Late Night Show. And in a few years he will be taking over the Tonight Show, which says a lot.

Agreed, the Conan written episodes of the simpsons were the best :)

if you have a iTunes account that lives in the US of A then you can download from the iTunes store US - if your credit card lives in the UK then the UK store is for you

no get arounds on that one

Yeah.....unless you're an American customer of Apple's there doesnt seem much point to the video iPod.

Apple need to start negotiating with tv channels from other countries.

If the rumoured Mac Mini does come to pass with TV content, it'll only be useful for the minority, not very worthwhile for the majority of the world.
