Maybe because this year Pro Max has newer 6.7 inch display which suppliers has tough time producing it. iPhone 12 mini which also has newer 5.4 inch display will be released in Novemeber as per leaks. Other screen sizes like 5.8 inch and 6.1 inch were released before so probably they are easier to make.

You are making it very complicated.
it’s easy - You pre-order the phone. 14 day return policy starts when it gets delivered to your doorstep. You play around with it for 14 days test out 5G + A14 chip and then return it within 14 days. I believe the same week pre-orders for pro Max would start. Then you pre-order the PRO-MAX phone. It’s a win win situation. You just have to have great time management and risk taking skills.

I’m not excited about having to wait until Nov. for the Mini but that’s that’s the phone I want so I will wait it out. I don’t like having to return anything I buy..that’s just me. A few more weeks of wait time won’t make a difference.

It’s fine as long as there are not stock shortages and buying one just to use for 2 weeks isn’t depriving someone else of having their order for weeks. You aren’t happy waiting until November for the phone you want so I doubt you’re a selfish person who would want to pass that frustration onto others :)

Please see the previous post and do the research before posting a such comment. I'll be buying two iPhone models this year lol no need to return anything ;). We'll see you in pre-ordering night friend :).
 
Imagine the panic if Tim today says, “and all of the new iPhones will be available for preorder immediately at the end of this event”. 😂
 
Just wanted to mention, if Apple brings back their holiday return policy in November as I expect (Amazon’s holiday return policy is already in effect as evidenced by a January 21,2021 return date on some of my recent purchases), we’ll have until early January to return/exchange an iphone if necessary.

No way! that doesn’t start till November though.

I'm waiting for the Pro Max. Plus, it's supposed to have the 5x optical zoom instead of 4x, so that will be an added bonus along with better battery life.
