it does not matter what connection you have. i believe beejive advertises that even if you go from wifi to 3g or edge it will still work properly. in essence, you do not need a wifi connection, just some type of connection.

Did you not read his post? He has a iPod Touch, so no, it can't go to 3G or Edge. Anyways, to answer his question, when the Touch loses the wifi connection it will no longer receive push alerts because it's not conected to the Internet.

Apple seriously needs to add an option to stay connected to Wifi even when the iPhone/Touch is sleeping.

Nothing but problems for me today, reconnect errors, spinning gears forever, crashes randomly. Sigh, I'm waiting anxiously for 3.0.1

Yeah. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I ended up switching to AIM because it was basically signing off when I closed the application. Servers might be slammed.

Does anyone know how to rearrange groups in beejive? I would really appreciate it if someone could explain it :)

As for me, I do receive push notification but the phone doesn't vibrate at all. Is anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: Actually I was able to fix it by my own. I just had to enable sound in the notification tab. That way the notification vibrates every time

Ughhhhhh!

BeeJive is killing me today! Constant connection issues, the pinwheel of doom when trying to connect, no Yahoo account, and it even knocked out my 3G and phone service twice!
Hope it kicks in soon.
:(

Disappointing

I was hoping to get rid of my unlimited text plan with a PUSH IM app. But this thing is buggy as hell. Failed send message , connection errors, spinning wheel all the time. I use text message , witch is a reliable way to communicate . Even if they fix the bigs , can an IM APP every be as reliable ?

Meaning I will always get a popup when I get a message when the phone is locked ( of course I will need a 3G or WiFi connection )
a) If the app is running or not
b) Even if I have not opened the IM app for month.

Something that you get with text messages.

I haven't had any issues with it.

same here, I am experiencing everything you are having.

1) cannot connect to host error
2) spinning wheel of death
3) messages not sent

My first impressions of beejive were very good, but that's certainly changed over the last few days!
It looks like they are having major problems on their servers and it simply isn't working. Add to that the fact that it's been pulled from the app store and it's not the best advert for push...

It's working again. Not sure for how long though. Hopefully they have sorted out all the server problems.
