It goes without saying that products like iPhones and iPads being thin, light and portable are subject to damage that would not otherwise occur if they were just slightly thicker.

That said... Apple has every right to build whatever they want. However they want to build it.

While it may or may not be required, I easily avoid bending and damage simply by being very careful with my Apple hardware. I have a very large circle of friends, family and colleagues that are Apple users.

We all know durable is not an Apple priority. :D

That did not happen without some kind of external force on the device. Even with a sleeve on it if it was sat on, it will bend. Hope Apple is done with this "thin" thing and does more to increase structural integrity.

Today I retired my iPad Air that I purchased the week they came out. I want everyone to know that it is not bent.

That is all.

So you’re telling us that a thread about “reports of bent iPad Airs” was nothing but scaremongering ?

I second this! I used my Air every day for 5 years. It traveled with me in satchels, bookbags, etc and it never bent or broke with only the Smart Cover on it.

I expect my new 12.9’ IPad Pro to fare exactly the same.

Most likely.

Exactly my point.

I like the effort here. A+, digging up a 3+ year old thread. You get a cookie.
Yea, it was either this thread or start a new thread that was titled: Bend-Gate is Not Real
