Best app for annotating .pdf files on Pro?

I bought the iPad Pro in part for two main reasons: I play music and wanted the larger screen size for sheet music, and I also am an editor for a publishing company so I need the ability to annotate .pdf files of books on the iPad itself so I can save myself stacks of paper from annotating by hand.

I have a pencil on order so I have some time to decide on the best .pdf app out there. Is there any specific one that you guys recommend for the annotation of .pdf files?

are u able to open pdf's from email directly and start annotating with that app?

I use GoodNotes to annotate PDFs with Pencil.

LiquidText is nice but it doesn't let you annotate with a stylus (including Pencil).

Havent tried PDF Expert but it does look good.. too bad it's $9.99

Has anyone tried the Apple Pencil with PDF Expert? I got it a couple of weeks ago when it was free and have been using it. Haven't gotten my pencil in yet and wanted to know if it worked well.

It works very well with the pencil.

Maybe it was just me, but PDF Expert never remembered where I left off on huge pdf files. It was so annoying opening a large textbook, annotating, then switching to another file or app, and then finding out the app kicked you back to page 1 of the file. That happened numerous times, with different textbook files.

Another annoyance was that it doesn't recognize the pencil as a smart stylus, like goodnotes. This means when you're not writing and accidentally touch the screen, your finger will make a mark.

Goodnotes connects to the pencil directly, so only the pencil makes a pencil marking.

Once those get fixed, it will be a good app. But for now...

Liquid text (which is absolutely amazing if you have textbooks), and goodnotes for when you need to mark up files.

Click the pencil at the top, then the pencil on the left, choose a colour, size and transparency and then scribble away ?

Only other bit I can think of is palm rejection in the menu but seems unlikely ?

I don't know - sorry.
