Citymapper has an AR Easter Egg...

I dont really know if its an easter egg if its a button covering the lower right of the map on the home page (which I find annoying considering they're covering up a map that is key to their app with a button to their useless AR implementation).

I'm also really disappointed how they went after the gimmicky 'place a green character' thing. AR would have been insanely useful to see the relative location of nearby transit stops with the next arrivals, etc.

The 3D room planner for ikea was updated. Is it ARKit now? Downloading over very slow wifi :(

Excited to see this section grow over the next week. I'm sure Apple will have a category for new AR apps too.

is there an app that shows what it's like ti have an iPhone x on day one instead of waiting til January to receive it in the mail??

There is, in fact, an AR Apps section in the Today tab on the App Store!

EDIT: Sorry, no there's not. Its just a featured story about a Thomas the Tank Engine A/R game. However, in Apps there is a "Get Started with AR" section.

Been playing around with the Thomas app, and man, I would have loved this when I was little as I was into this kind of stuff. Anyways, the AR is pretty cool on it. Just wish you could edit the track and stuff while in AR mode.

Just had a quick play with it. My son would’ve loved this a few years ago.

Excited to see what developers do with AR in the coming months. May even have to have a play myself! :)

Looks like there’s a section in the games section called Game-Changing AR now.

Edit: Stack is pretty interesting. I’m currently in second place with Game Center :p gonna aim for first.

More ARKit apps/games available now.

I’m seeing this on quite a few of the ARKit apps though on my 7+:

Same. Also all of ARKit apps are out of focus on my 7+
Strange. The ones I’ve tried seemed to be in focus, but I’ll have a much better play with them all tomorrow and report back if I have any problems.

Monster Park - Dino World is a cool demo. You can have a dinosaur walk in to the room and you can walk in to the portal the dinosaur came from. $2.99

Sounds cool. I think I’m gonna be spending a bit of cash over the next few weeks trying all these AR apps. :)
