Well here's my story, yesterday I went to Best Buy to confirm that they either would or would not have tickets(you might have seen my thread about this). They told me they would absolutely not have tickets. So today I go over at about 3:00 to see if there was a line or anything, the apple section was deserted, so I left. I return at 4:40 and hang out till 5:00, I began searching for someone to get me one but the guy I asked had no clue, then I saw somebody walk by with one, he said to go to customer service. Apparently they handed out tickets:mad: and they had sold out:mad:

from this point on I am NEVER using best buy again:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

aw man i am sorry to hear this. it sucks when you get uninformed staff giving you wrong info?

Sorry about the inept employee who gave you false information. As someone already suggested you might want to try Apple. Even if they don't have any left you'll probably get accurate about when they are expecting more in. You could also try ordering from Apple online.

I also had trouble with BB. I went at 2PM to check what they would do when line starts to form. One manager told me they would start to form line outside since they don't want iPad buyers to linger inside store. I said ok and was waiting till 4:30 PM in car and went to check inside since no one was forming line. I have found inside about 8 people waiting in line. That much about their correct information.

To my knowledge, Best Buy has always used tickets.

The employees always tells you something different as well.

My brother just bought a laptop there but asked the best buy employee if they charge a restock fee. The employee told my brother that they would not impose a restock fee, so my brother bought the notebook and took a chance.

Now that my brothers contemplating on whether to keep his new ASUS notebook or not, on the back of his receipt saids he will be charged a 15% restocking fee on any notebooks that has been opened from its original packaging.

I told my brother, why would your situation be different than anyone else's? But he kept telling me that this is what the Best Buy employee told him.

Do not give 100% trust to all employees from any company, I've heard way too many bad stories. If you have a question, ask the employee and do your own research to see if its true.

Guess my odds of rushing over right after work to grab one at 5 are running slim :/As to the OP, I feel your pain. I tried to wait in line at a Shopko for the PS3.

They were getting 2 units. The manager told me I was the first to have asked about a line, but that didn't want me to start one. I ran and checked two other stores, came back to the Shopko, and the manager had just finished talking to two people who he let form a line. I was annoyed.

K, that is one of the worst stories I have heard for sure. This forum makes me glad the only BestBuy I have is too far away to care to ever go.

Great experience where I went. I got there 4:20 and 4:30 3 other guys got there, they asked what we wanted and I got a paper with the model etc.

30 minutes later the line forms quick. I was surprised how quickly people went there for the 3G

The Wifi models were selling briskly, some folks picking up 2.

I got the keyboard dock, a targus case. All for a cool 1K

The did not have the Apple case that folds like a book. Whats up with that?

That sucks...maybe they will have more on Sunday. Sometimes they hold back inventory to sell on Sunday when the ads come out.
I'm still trying to find out the details of that sale. But yea I get the feeling they hold back the cheaper models for the Sunday people and figure if you're willing to stand in line for it then most likely you will buy the more expensive models if that is what is offered.

1st mistake: never trust that anyone that works at a store knows anything about anything.

Well, I bought the 64GB but now that my husband is home and checking it out he wants one too (he hasn't admitted it yet but he won't give it back to me). I told him we should go buy a 32GB for me and he can have mine.

I checked 3 BestBuy locations on my way home from work, all 3 were sold out. The lady at one told me they only got 15 of them.
