The Bestbuy I purchased the 3G at had 10 of the 64GB and 8 of the 32GB

The sold out quick. I say 10 minutes tops. Glad I got there before Worth the small wait but no UPS worries etc. walk in and you walk out with the stuff.

WiFis were selling fast. I doubt any stock is left now.

When do they hand out tickets? This morning? Last week?

the guy who I saw that had one, said he got a ticket at 4:35. 5 minutes before I got there, if I had known to get a ticket I probably could've gotten one but no 'they weren't going to have tickets

now I've checked all the apple stores in my area, only one has stock but still has a line, I'll check again before they close and try to snag one in the morning

and I'm still mad:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I walked in at 4:50 to the BestBuy near me, expecting long lines. There was virtually nobody in there. I asked one of the people in the Apple section what I needed to do and she gave me a ticket. There were two tickets given out ahead of me. Bought it and was out of the store at 5:05. There was nobody else in the Apple section when I left.

The local BB store here in Champaign, IL gave out tickets beginning at noon. They only got 15 3G units (5 32Gig units and 10 64Gig units) and the first 15 ticket holders bought them all.

They did have a few wifi only units.

Mine came Fedex was delivered at 10:51 AM.

Lesson "Trust but Verify".

As opposed to the first 15 ticket holders not buying the 15 3g units? Sorry I am a bit confused. The best buy on long island, NY is the same way. The employees don't really know what is going on.

Best buy suxs....check stuff out there and buy at amazon

Better yet pay a bit more and buy from your local B&M shops (if Worst Buy and Wally World haven't forced them to close) instead and get the help you need.... better hurry though cheapskates that want everything on the cheap and tax free will soon close them sadly....

As for Apple products like the iPad go to the Apple Store....

I like the points and the 18 months to pay for it. I guess they are going to trickle in... It may be weeks before they get more

Your first (and really only) mistake was believing anything a Best Buy employee tells you.

Seriously, they're just one step above Wal-Mart.

As i said in your other thread if your best buy handed out tickets they went against the best buy policy for this launch. In which case your problem is with your particular store and not the company as a whole.

But i am sorry to here about your issues with picking one up.

My local best buy said they only had 64's (but a buddy told me they had other models in the back). They also said I had to buy a $30 dollar iTunes gift card and a $35 dollar case! (not the apple 1). I argued but ended up havingmto buy the gift card. Best buy in el centro, california

Today at BB I witnessed an associate talk someone out of buying an iPad. He said a new one is coming out in 6 months and he should wait. WTF?

It's things like this that make me never want to be associated with the company... I wonder sometimes if they even care who they hire

I find that things vary vastly from employee to employee. Some are really tools with room temperature IQs and some are actually smart and helpful. Fortunately, most of the ones working at the BB nearest me are actually pretty decent.

Reminds me of GameStop. on most forums the employees of GS are thrashed, but my local one good people.

Like any big retailer, the employees are generally sullen and clueless.

Except the sullen part, you could be talking about Apple Store also. Look at the thread about not accepting cash for iPads. People got wildly varying answers, so it is not something unique to BB.

Not defending BB, but a lot of front line employee do not know what is going on with things like this. They should be saying that they don't know and they will find out. Hopefully, they ask a manager - who will know - and get that info out to customers and other employees.

I have 3 BestBuy stores within ~20 miles radius, but only one store carries Apple. I called my local store aroun 11am on Friday asking about 3G iPad. The clerk told me iPad will be available at 5pm. It is going to be first come first serve basis. I went to the store around 7pm. I want to get 3G 64gb, but only if the 32gb was not available. They have around 10 of 32gb wifi and few 3g 64gb. I ended up walking out with the 64gb 3G. I bought many things from BestBuy, I like my store. But, you can't always depends on sale person. You need to do your homework prior to buy anything these days.

Man, that sucks, besides not getting it, it's the time they waste of yours with false info.

Reminds me of the xbox 360 launch at my Circuit City. Waited 6 hours in line, in the cold, no sleep. As it got near, many of us were frustrated when people we'd never seen after 4 hours in line started showing up, joining friends, throwing our line count to stock ratio off.

Still, I managed to get a ticket, only three left when they got to me, it was all worth it. They said to come back in an hour at opening or later. I do, at which point I wait 30 minutes in a new line for pick up. When I get to the counter, to my horror, they tell me they handed out "one" extra ticket by mistake, and that I was the last one to come for that model, zero left. They wouldn't let me upgrade to the better models that were still waiting. I was pissed, the tickets were numbered, I wasn't the last, but I had to pay for their mistake. They only offered to put my name first on the next shipment (who knew when), and extend their lousy 10% accessories sale.

I did my homework. All 3 local best buy locations were only getting 5 ipad 3g's each.

...So I waited in line at the Apple store for an hour.
