Just bought the Razer Orochi, and it works wonderfully wired and wireless.

Hwilensky

I also have a Razer Orochi, its "sleep" mode when operated wirelessly is far too aggressive. I mean, sit still for 3 seconds and it goes to sleep?

On the plus side, drivers and setup software are available for OS X.

most pro gamers use a trackpad due to the capacity for two-finger magic mapping which allows you to do a quick swipe to drink a potion or cast a spell or anything, which would usually take anywhere from two to five clicks. I solo'd D2 on the highest difficulty with a trackpad and I have no regrets.

I'm using the Razer Naga Epic which has been great. If you want a simpler gaming mouse the Logitech G400 is the spiritual successor to the MX18 which was the end all for me for many many years (I bought 2 when they were announced discontinued).

Using a Logitech Performance MX mouse as my main mouse right now although I rotate between loads for game testing, it's a nice (if a little expensive) wireless mouse.

Great tracking and accuracy (with no lag) for gaming.

I've used quite a few different mices, and always comes back to the MX500 series.
I had one MS Explorer gaming mouse, which was decent, but had several technical issues after awhile, it might be I was unlucky, but I'll never get another one.
After that I've had a MX500, a mx510 and a G9x and now a mx518.
The G9x was great, but mx518 just fit my hand better.

Also the MX518 is pretty cheap too.

do you use Logitech Control Center or Steermouse USB-overdrive? My Performance Mouse MX sometimes is a little bit laggy and jumpy, probably due to Wifi or heavy workload when gaming, don't know....

Running the official drivers, so we can work out how to work around some Logitech "features" that make using the mouse harder.

Only been using this model for a week now, so far no jumping but we will see over time.

When running the official running the drivers mouse delta access is only available through the drivers via the OS which means you can get lag under CPU load as you have to wait on the drivers and OS to give you the mouse movement deltas. If you uninstall the drivers and have a game (like DeusEx) with Raw input mode the game can grab the mouse data direct from the mouse meaning no mouse lag as you get the movement straight from the mouse to the game.

Other drivers like steer mouse have an option to disable the drivers when an application is running. For games with a raw input mode I highly recommend trying it out. The logitech mouse feels sharper in DeusEx (last thing I tested) with drivers disabled and raw mode enabled.

WARNING If your drivers do not disable using raw mode will mean your mouse will stop moving in game so make sure you have the mouse drivers disabled before trying it out!

1) "Official" drivers mean logitech control center or the ones, which come with osx, which let you use the mouse out of the box? where can I enable that "RAW" mode? ?_?

2) another annoying thing is "smooth scrolling", which cannot be disabled... (sucks especially, when working with CAD software, where you use the middle mouse button for clicking and zooming (=scrolling)... every time, when you press the button, you do always a zoom action..) I read that for some games (e.g. Egoshooters, which use the scroll wheel for weapon changing, the scroll wheel of the PMX is way too sensitive...) steermouse has an option for that, why the hell the official logitech drivers don't have such a useful feature...

By Official I mean Logitech LLC.

1.0 Runs 100% of the time in Raw mode so it has problems with the Logitech drivers. So we made a patch.
1.0.1 Patch you enable raw mode in the Advanced tab in the pre game options panel.

Send me a PM and I will give you my email, if you then email me a description of the problem (with screenshots) and how it works on with Steermouse I will try and pass it on to Logitech. I am trying to contact them about adding in a few overrides and options for our games so I can throw your complaint in as well. No promises that it will come to anything but worth a try :)

Razer Imperator.

Simply epic

All macro'd up for SCII

To me, macros are nothing but cheating.

Razer mice suck. Cheap quality, big price. Every serious gamer is able to perform well on any mouse, no need for ugly mice designed for children.

it depends on the game, in some games macros are considered cheating, in others they are fair game.

some mice are just **** and will hinder any player's performance, especially if you are used to 2000 dpi and then forced onto a 900 dpi mouse

my Razer Mamba feels very solid and well built, I got it last year some time and there's no signs of any wear or tear (except for slight fading of the mate coating where I click which is expected on that type of surface) imo a VERY well built mouse, maybe a little expensive but I wouldn't have ay other mouse ever again

also ugly is subjective, I think my Razer Mamba is sexy, admittedly I think the Nagas look a bit chubby but apart from that Razer make good looking AND ergonomic mice

Have to say I care more about how its feels in my hand and how tried or not it makes me. I have to use mice all day every day more of less and a good mouse makes a difference.

The RAT mice are also very nice to use if a little funky looking.

ergonomic = comfortable to use

ergonomic = comfortable to use

Thanks I know what ergonomic means. :) In fact ergonomic does not just mean comfortable it also means it is designed to avoid stress or injury.

Anyway I like Razor mice, although right now my main mouse is a Logitech Performance MX gaming mouse.

This is the one I'm currently using and it works great. It is however a bit on the small side so those with big hands may not find it easy to use.

I bought it because I managed to get it brand new for £30 and I had to use some store credit up. It wouldn't have been my first choice. I am thinking of picking up a different one, maybe one of the Razors or one of the Cyborg R.A.T. Mice.

my favorite mouse is the logitech mx518 combined with usb overdrive. it has been discontinued and replaced by the g400, but i don't know if it's compatible with usb overdrive.

I'm currently looking at the Death Adder (lefty).... call me a cynic but £55? is that for real?, i've seen other left hander gaming mice which are close to and above the £100 mark?

I'm currently using an overtired Logitech lefty mouse, which doesn't work with USB overdrive on lion :(

I'm using a Razer Naga, cause of all the buttons, but I find it awkward to adequately use all the buttons due to their close proximity to one another.

I use the Razer DeathAdder mouse designed for Mac use. All five buttons work in WoW with the drivers provided by Razer. The annoying problem it has is to reset my mouse speed to low every time I log on to my computer. Hate this but I am OK with the mouse. My cat likes it too -he ate the cord of my first one.

Is everyone else using a Razer mouse having this problem? I've read this is an issue with all Razer mice...that is a HUGE problem! I know most people don't restart very often, but still, that's pretty bad...

I have to second the Razer Naga Epic. No issues with it under Mac OS X or Windows 7 (Bootcamp) and I've had it about a year.
