Then which do you recommend?
It doesn't matter...whichever is in stock when you order. You may get a good one. You may get a bad one. Your best bet may be to order several, each from a different supplier.

Are you suggesting they all come from the same place?

From what I've seen on here and on YouTube reviews, the BRG Tech and Penom Milanese come from amazon in the exact same box, just different stickers on it.
I doubt they come from the same factory, it's clear that for example the Jetech one is inferior to the MOKO in terms of quality so I don't think they come from the same factory

The Moko one doesn't exist anymore as they will no longer be manufactured.

Here's how it works:

An enterprising entrepreneur in Hong Kong creates a company headquartered at a mail drop. He contacts one of several factories in Guangdong China that make these bands and orders 10,000 bands to be shipped to Amazon, where he sets up a fulfillment contract. "Mojo Tech" becomes the latest seller of watch bands on Amazon.

Mr. "Mojo Tech" never touches a single watch band. He pays as little as ten cents for a leather buckle or 50 cents for a Milanese loop and gets $7 from Amazon for each one sold. I've seen leather straps offered for one cent in high quantity.

Guangdong has over a dozen manufacturers of fake bands, some in the same building. Others are down the street. The typical company has 50 to 100 employees and can make 5000 to 50000 bands a week.

I suspect that employees and production equipment move from factory to factory as orders come in. If "GD Mfg'ing" gets an order for 50,000, they pull in another 50 people for the week from the company downstairs. There are also "Trading Companies" which will source the product from their own factory or another one nearby.

"Mojo Tech's" product may come from one factory this week and another next week. The same is true for "Saigo" and "AKG" and others.

When you buy a "Mojo Tech" watch band from Amazon, you never know which factory it came from, and who was assembling it. Quality will vary from week to week.

That said, the quality is on average very high considering the price. Guangdong factories do an amazing job.

I've noticed LNKOO silicone bands seem to be a little better than Moko and JETech. I do think the Moko and JETech silicone bands come from the same place.

It could just be true this week of course.

Also, I've noticed a difference with different colored bands within the same brand. I do think color can be a bigger differentiator than brand sometimes.

Received LNKOO vintage rose silicone band this week for my wife. Not too impressed with the color and the band seems to be lesser quality than Moko and one from eBay.

Edit:This eBay seller is pretty good and ships from CA, not China

While the LNKOO silicone sports band knockoff is decent and doesn't appear to attract lint and dust, my major problem is it only comes in one size. That means I lock it in with about 1 slot left. I prefer a bigger size.

Is there a band of similar quality that comes in a bigger band for the 42mm?

Check out the ebay one or Fantek one on Amazon. FanTek comes with both S/M & M/L. I personally have no experience with FanTek.

Great post, its certainly possible thats how it works and the quality truly varies by the batch type rather than the "name" behind the Milanese Loop manufacturer and that Moko, Penom, Jetech are all the same bands coming from the same factory,

I got the BRG and Penom black Milanese. The BRG fell apart in days and would not latch properly. The Penom had 4.5 stars(3607 reviews) and the BRG has 4-stars. That half star is probably for the working latch ). Other than that they look the same. Actually returned the broken BRG with the Penom case since it was exactly the same and I had thrown away the BRG case.

Any current feedback on the Hoco Milanese? Not a lot of feedback that I could find, here or elsewhere.

It's double the cost of the others, but I'm curious as to whether that's due to the nicer presentation, or a better product.

Another factor is that it's still available, at least for the time being, while other options disappear.

I generally prefer leather straps over bracelets, so I'm not inclined to buy Apple's, but a mesh would be nice to have as an option.

The Hoco Milanese band looks like the others but of the 5 reviews, 4 were paid. Fortunately, Amazon has ended this process. It is now illegal for companies to offer free or reduced prices on items in exchange for reviews. Amazon will pull your products off their site if you are caught doing this.

I would go with the Penom above. Mine is here tomorrow and we have at least one review here that it is good.

That hoco band with the hoco logo on the band just looks hideous, go with the penom instead for half the price.
