You can include non-Mac exclusive games if you like, but what you would be saying is this: "This is the best game ever made for Mac, but there's absolutely no point playing it because the PC/Amiga/etc version is WAY BETTER"

Not really, I can think of games where the Mac version was as good if not better than the PC version and that is not counting games I personally worked on the Mac versions where I have some bias :)

Unreal Tournament 99 was pretty much identical no real benefit on either platform.

Quake 3 games ran faster on a Mac than PC's on dual cpu machines.

I know you can get lower fps on some ports (that standard comment everyone always uses) but frame-rate is not the entire experience of a game as long as it is smooth who cares if it is 60 fps or 80fps?

Ruling out Mac games that are released on other platforms means no game in the last 10 years would be available to be rated as the best game on any platform as they all as dual platform titles these days.

For example you could say Call Of Duty was the best game on the PC but the console version was better so basically you are saying "This is the best game ever made for PC, but there's absolutely no point playing it because the console versions are WAY BETTER".

This thread is looking for the best Mac native game you can (or could) buy and play on your Mac. It is not really a debate on platforms, that is an interesting discussion but it is not really the same as debating what the best Mac game is.

Personally I would also exclude Wine and other hacked games and only list games that have been officially and legitimately ported to the Mac. But I know I am biased!
