Best time to upgrade 2018 mini RAM in now(ish)

No longer at 144 on Amazon but it is on Crucial's site. So I got it there.
I was basically shocked how (relatively) cheap the 32GB sticks have become. For 330 Euro total I just couldn‘t pass on getting 64GB RAM, although I would probably have been fine with 32 or even 16.
Interesting ... I didn’t follow RAM prices at all as I just recently pondered and then quickly decided to get the mini. But I certainly expected the 32GB sticks to be way more expensive. I got them from jacob.de but still have to wait for my CTO mini.
Price there is 188 euro per 32gb stick. That makes it 376 euro for 64gb. You mentioned 330?
Interesting. When you go there directly, the price is indeed 188,33. When you go there via geizhals.de, it‘s 169,05. A few days ago it was 165.

Samsung 32GB sticks are also lowering the price considerably. They are pretty much neck and neck with Crucial sticks, so having 64GB vs 32GB costs just marginally more than double.
I might still be pulling the trigger on the 32GB kit though. Going from 8GB to 32GB is already a massive jump. Not sure I would see the same level of improvement with 64GB since the heaviest tasks I do are LightRoom/photo editing.

Yeah, I think 64GB is overkill. I went from 8GB to 32GB and my memory pressure went from ~60% to ~10% using Lightroom and Photoshop. I'm pretty happy with the OWC I got.

Anyone know UK prices for Apple store and Authorised Apple re-seller stores to upgrade RAM in a Mac Mini 2018? I could do it myself but I don't want to risk it when I've not done it before - and I don't want to lose my warranty.

Today I put 64GB of OWC RAM in mine. I had to do it twice as I failed to properly seat one of the modules. The operation was pretty fast though and not much different than on the pair of 2012s that I had. Somehow the fasteners are getting even smaller (or I'm just getting older and more feeble).
I haven't done any benchmarks but it sees to be much faster to build a 13 image EOS 5d Mark iv pano using Adobe Camera Raw. I'm happy I've got as much RAM as can be had in a 2018 mini.

Yes I did the same (OWC 64). Was on sale here in Australia.
Only one attempt needed, I followed the OWC guide, which was great.
Crucial 32GB kit (16x2) has been holding at $133 for a few days. The Samsung 32GB sticks are currently 179/each, so $358 for 64GB!
