Any idea what an iPad 1 would sell for? I didn't jump on the iPad 2 bandwagon, but this is definitely the time to upgrade.

Use ebay Completed Sales as a guideline, as well as what other units are offered for on Craigslist in your area -- remembering that the ads are typically for ipads that havent yet sold, so don't just match their prices.

Thanks for the tip.

I just listed my iPad2 on Ebay last night for a 7 day auction. I'll probably end up having no iPad for a few weeks, depending on when the iPad3's are available.

Just remember we still do not know when the ipad will be available. Not to mention how many will be here on launch. Selling your ipad now could leave you without an ipad for a longer time than you want. The price difference between now and when the ipad 3 is selling is not as much as some would want you to believe.

For example.

The ipad 1 16gb wifi you can get upto $290 from Amazon Trade In.

OP, How much did you end up getting for it? What model was it again? Did you sell to someone on craigslist?

Sorry for all the questions. I sold my original iPad on Craigslist and got a good price for it when I upgraded to the iPad 2. I just now posted my iPad 2 on craigslist.

Thanks,
Jason

FWIW I just sold my 64 GB iPad 2 on Craigslist for $500 even though it had a scratch in the middle of the screen.

I've always primarily tried to sell on ebay. I flirted with selling my Ipad 2 before giving it to the wife. I listed it on Craigslist and got mostly folks trying to talk me down in price or trade me stuff. Friday morning a guy offered me a shotgun :)....so I was thinking sure I go meet him to trade and he turns it on me lol

@ bjmach : same happened to me too. I also find someone in brooklyn and goinmg to meet her soon. good luck to me. I am eager to buy new iPad3 which is expect to launch by 7th April.

The launching ceremony will be held in London. why not USA? anyway I am concerned to new iPad3

just got $430 shipped for my ipad 2 16gb wifi on ebay with targus case...
after fees basically im getting $400 or so for it, so I am happy....
My ebay rating is 171 or so all positive so that probably was helpful

didn't sell my Ipad 2 or Ipad 1 but had an old Iphone 8GB 3G that was laying around and sold it for $120 on ebay listing closed yesterday. I guess thats not too bad for an older Iphone model

No Problem. I got $520 for ipad 2 64 gb Wifi. I sold it to someone on craigslist. Once I lowered my price to $520 I got a lot of people contacting me. One other tip i learned from this is to set up a google voice # bc people like to text more then email. LMK if you have any other questions. Good Luck!

I sold my iPad 2 32GB w/ SmartCover (plastic, not leather) for $500 on Craigslist. It took a few days for the right buyer to show serious interest, but after I cut loose all the low ballers, I was pleased with my sale. :D It can definitely be done, but I cannot stress the importance of selling before Wednesday. After Wednesday, expect prices to drop by at least 50, likely 100 bucks.:apple:

Sold my 16GB wifi for $375 yesterday with an Incase Book Jacket Classic.

Was looking to get $400 for it but it had been listed for about a week and I wanted to get rid of it asap before any other iPad 3 news came out.

Got $480 for my 32GB iPad 2. Initially listed it on CL for $500.
Didn't get any real hits, typical tattoo and airline ticket offers.

Waited two days, re-posted it at $480 and sold within a day.
The lady I sold it to didn't even bother to check inside the box.

Good thing I'm honest. Now, lets just hope Apple delivers with this announcement.
