Jaybird X3 are much better sound wise to the Bose and you can change the signature via the app. I use them for running and they're great as I can wear them over the ear. At home I use the B&W P7 Wireless, but also auditioned the AKG N60NC Wireless and they're great too.

I tried the X3's before the Bose and much preferred the Bose sound (and fit). Goes to show that sound quality is a very subjective judgement.

Really? Do you prefer a non-warm sound signature then? Did you use the app to adjust things?

I did try the app. Just a personal preference. I also picked up a pair of Bose QuietComfort 20 wired earbuds (to replace my old QC 15 headphones for noise cancelling).

BeatsX for general everyday listening and conference calls because they are super comfortable and the cable structure ends up making the microphone sit right at your mouth which is great for calls. Plus W1 chip for easy connecting several times a day and better battery life.

Jaybird X3s for exercise because they are waterproof and you can adjust the sound signature with the app - I make it more bass heavy which pumps me up during running etc...

I have the Bose sound link II and I love them. Been using Bose for years. I have never had a problem with their products.

Has anyone recommended AirPods yet ? :)
For me their only downside is poor battery. I think they should last twice what we have now, despite the fact the Airpods can be recharged to 100% within minutes. That and the fact you are still broadcasting signals and wasting battery even if not used (you only have to remove them from the charger case).

And the volume is not loud enough.

My issue is the form factor and after that, the sound quality. Apple took cheap earpods and added all this wireless technology (commendable given how well it works compared to competitors) but did nothing with form factor and sound.

Cheap earpod sound and form factor that Apple sell at a hugely marked up price is further marked up. The real cost of the "sound component" is almost nothing given how cheaply Apple can produce the pod. The price of the Airpods is essentially the W1 chip and the wireless technology connecting the two pods which is not enough for me.
