Built in handwriting recognition and conversion for iPad and Apple Pencil...oh well. No compelling reason to upgrade from Air 2 until the pro series has baked in handwriting recognition.

YeH, multiple user log in is the other thing. Screw "individual device" kids are mooches and they want each other's and each parents simply because it is someone else's. I live in the Bay and I get that lots of people don't have kids but get a grip apple...it doesn't work in the real world

I was really hoping to see them announce password/Touch ID required for device shutdown. As long as control center is disabled in the lock screen, I believe it would aid in the recovery of stolen iPhones.

Pretty easy to turn the device off using the reset method. That's aside from popping the SIM out as another alternative.

PIP/Split View on iPhone 6s Plus - Yeah, there is not much space like an iPad but can still work portrait and landscape. Very possible and would have been nice.

I was looking for this too. I've read Samsung phones do this so it should be doable on the 6+

Biggest feature for me would be dark mode. Perhaps this will be an added feature during the beta process. I'm quite happy you can delete stock apps though.

I'd imagine something like dark mode would be at the top of the list for many here.

On the other hand, it seems (if I'm reading it all correctly) there are now options to uninstall stock apps, which is one of the things that would get brought up here fairly often, and yet it doesn't seem like there's much discussion about it all.

That's because there's nothing to complain about

No dark mode at this point is beyond me because in some ways, the UI is more white than before with Music App all white. Plus, its not just for the night, but there are some people with vision problem and a darker theme is more convivial compared to invert colors and see everything inverted images included. So no Dark mode is really not understandable.

Second one is the entire lack of new feature for the iPad, especially iPad pro. I thought with the release of a bigger iPad, the next iOS release would be great for this device but....nothing!

Overall for me iOS 10 is a big disappointment, iOS 9 was a better release IMO and just saying that means a lot of my though of iOS 10.

iOS10 lacks a lot of changes the users want which are e.g.

iOS lacks:
– Customisable Control Center
– Dark mode
– Swipe/gesture keyboard build into stock Apple keyboard
– Option to use third party apps as main apps e.g. Spark/Airmail instead of Mail app (you can now remove the Mail app).
– Allow more user profiles on iPad also for consumers
– Ability to run multiple instances of an app via Slide Over/Split View aside from Safari
– Change the way you can search and add/remove apps from Slide Over/Split View view
– Better support for URL schemes / demand apps to add this to their app and or certain features so I can easily start up certain features or apps via Launcher app + workflows see also the Workflow app
– Ability to choose an order for wifi/3G/4G list of favorite networks so you connect to your own wifi (much quicker) instead of the wifi of your neighbor (free wifi from provider but much slower)
– Improve Mail app by adding e.g. snooze feature, better way of handling atttachments on the iPhone (like Spark, Airmail, Outlook)
– Better UI for iPads, make use of the space
- No iMessage support on Android

The only things I liked are:
– Siri can now be used for third party developers, so we can maybe see support for third party keyboards with Siri build in. I still think that adding swipe/gesture keyboard in Apple’s own keyboard would be best so I won’t have to use third party apps

– You can delete certain Apple stock apps and download these from the App Store, unfortunately removing the Apple Mail app doesn’t make mailto links accessible with third party mail clients like Airmail, Spark.

– Install Calculator and other stock apps on iPad (probably). I’m also wondering if you can now install Calculator, Weather and other iPhone only apps on your iPad now these will become available from the App Store.

– Run 2 instances of Safari in Slide Over/Split View (unfortunately not other (stock) apps).

I'm not using the Music or iMessage app and thought the spended too much time on that in the presentation/demo. Seriously emoji is so horrible. Why was that invented.

Biggest thing I wanted was two documents from the same app side by side. They know it's needed; they gave us the ability with Safari.

Custimized control center, and multiple user accounts on iPad for sure.

For me, you need to white list apps from Do Not Disturb mode. I cannot use DND mode, and I would LOVE to. I work nightshift, so DND could be HUGE for me, but I have type 1 diabetes and use a Dexcom G5 on my iPhone. I cannot use DND without muting notifications for my Dexcom continuous glucos monitor- a total non-starter for me.

Dark Mode.
Multiple user accounts.
iPad Pro Home Screen (just push icons closer to one side and show widgets).
Dark Mode.
Dark Mode.

I almost guarantee the dark mode will be exclusive to iPhone 7 with the:
gorgeous unapologetically blacker than black 5.5" OLED display

I'm with the person above, I would bet money it's an exclusive to the new phone.

To quote Tim Cook: “We have great innovation in the pipeline, like new iPhones that will incent you and other people that have iPhones today to upgrade to new iPhones…We are going to give you things that you can’t live without…You will look back and wonder: ‘How did I live without this?'”

How did I live in the blinding white light of the iPhone 6s?
