It is in its own right and might, no doubt. But in this context where I am talking about failure of App Store team to properly check an app before release, that argument is not relevant but escapist.
It looks like Apple is quicker to catch code that fleeces them of their revenue than catching code and functionality that pretends to be something else. The consumer can be the most stupid person on the planet, but they will claim that Apple let the malicious app through while touting security and safety and vetting of apps, so they are to share the blame.
Again, I could be wrong about this, but I would think Apple needs to take their share of the blame. We as consumers are just too kind to them and too hard on our own selves. Even when Apple has just been proven deficient in their own vetting, we still want to keep the blame with us. Apple is lucky to have always enjoyed such evangelist consumers.
