Go into Settings > General > Restrictions. Scroll down until you get to Privacy: Contacts. Enter into Contacts, check 'Allow Changes' and underneath enable the application bitesms. Then go to Settings > Privacy > Contacts. Check to see whether the bitesms application is turned on.

I feel so dumb, I didn't realize you meant setting from the phone. I thought u meant in the app. I realized this after I responded. It worked. Thanks for the help.

Under bite settings/quick reply do you have "mark all read" turned on?

Yes I do. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing
