Wish I could help but I've not delved very deep into the abilities of bixby.

Bixby is so much more than other DAs. People don't even bother trying it before spewing their hate, and I totally don't get it. Then you have the Bixby button that everyone complains about. But in actuality, it makes total sense for people that don't want to have their phones always listening. I wonder if they and the tech reviewers are complaining about the iPhone having the power button doubling up as a Siri button. In turn causing multiple buttons required to turn off your iPhone X. But I digress, back to Bixby. The only thing I can say about Bixby is, Samsung needs to market this feature even more so as they build up to their GS9 launch. The video below is one of the best videos that really shows exactly how capable Bixby is compared to anything else out there, and it's only gonna get better.

You have to understand, people don't like to admit that Samsung have been the ones really pushing things forward in mobile, from hardware to software, we have watched so many Samsung features get integrated into Stock Android and iOS.

I don't have a problem with Samsung trying their hands at a virtual assistant, but it's kind of a microcosm of the entire Samsung ecosystem. Samsung's apps and services don't hold a candle to the OOB Google Play apps and services. Generally, this is fine, but now there's a button on the phone for Bixby that can't be remapped. It just feels like a superfluous service no one wanted.

I mean, I get it, the Pixel's active edge feature cannot natively be remapped, but that's the Google environment and Google Assistant is the smartest of the assistants*

*smartest, but has less skills than Alexa.
Beg to differ.

- Samsung's Web Browser is far more efficient vs. Chrome and allows Ad Blocking and Whitelisting
- Samsung's Music Player is far better than Play Music and has some fantastic widgets
- Samsung's Email app is one of the easiest to setup with almost any Exchange server, I have never had to deep dive into the settings with any Samsung at any company I've worked at with Exchange email, I've just put in my Email Addy and Password and the app takes care of everything
- Samsung's Clipboard will appear anywhere where you can write text and will keep anything from images, audio and text in there, ready for you to action

I could go on.

Many of Google's apps feel too Apple inspired at times

Add Samsung video player to the list as it's one of the rare stock apps that plays all media codecs without the need to pay for a top 3rd party app like MX Player Pro.

So true! This was actually prof why I went Samsung back in 2011 with the Galaxy S2, I was shocked at how capable the Samsung video player was back then! It was the only Built-in Video Player in any phone that could handle pretty much any codes you through its way, it was better than the 3rd party stuff by a huge margin.
