On a shift at CPW currently. Just done a stock check and no KEYones in the region apart from Oxford Street... 700 units available in their store.

It's happening!!!

Reckon they'll sell them all tomorrow? I mean i have one put to one side (supposedly) but if that fell through reckon they will still be available by end of day?

I'm nervous and excited all at the same time!

Stress has started already...

Woke up and seen that people had been able to order from Selfridges online, bang on midnight.
I checked and it was showing as 'Coming Soon' still.

I got to work, others were then posting about how they had ordered so I checked again, there it is in stock.
So I ummed and ahhhd, in the end I clicked buy, did the needful ha.
But then my card declined due to Barclays prevention methods of suspicious activity.

So I responded to their text advising that, yes, it was me who made this transaction, tried again and got same error.

So I called them, whilst on the phone my basket then flashed up 'only 4 remaining'. So I'm frantically trying to get this woman on the phone to sort it and then it was showing 'only 1 remaining'.

Tried again - didn't work. She said it was now flagged as fraud so she had to confirm more details.

We got through it, and I ordered and it confirmed. Delivery tomorrow.
But I'm not sure if I was just out of time. I guess I'll just have to wait and see and if I have no dispatch confirmation before I finish work, my partner said he'll just get his train and go.

What a stress!!

I guess it didn't help that the majority of CrackBerry forums were ordering from all over Europe as Selfridges ship out there! But it did make me wonder if this ate into the 700 stock that Oxford Street Selfridges were holding, and I have a feeling it might have done. I've asked a CarPhone colleague to do a stock check at Oxford Street now to see if it has affected that number at all. Will then take a punt on whether to send my BF or not. He's happy either way, he loves London!

And breathe. Man, I don't think I've ever wanted a phone so much in my life. Is there a medical term for this nonsense?! :p

CPW stock update from a colleague - 313 left.
Guessing the online orders have eaten into that 700 as expected.

Cannot get through to the store at all to check if one has been put aside. Can't see them selling 300 in a day, but who knows. Apparently they're already on eBay for £700 so there will be idiots going to buy and re-sell for profit, which just gets my back right up.

Either way, my order has hopefully worked online so I should have it tomorrow (even though I'm not in for delivery), but we'll see.

Lots of people posting pics on CB with the phones in a nice yellow Selfridges bag. Very exciting.

Availability for Canada is pre-order starting mid-may. US is 31st May which is a bit of a bummer. Have to wonder why the UK have got them much earlier. Not that I'm complaining!

It will be available unlocked May 31st in US/Canada. And available at US carriers later in the summer. I've said it before LG makes some bonehead decisions but Blackberry takes the the cake. I really hope this phone is stellar otherwise this phone will barely sale in the States.

I couldn't agree more.
They have never got releases of their devices right.
For them to tease the phone in January, give the official name and pricing in Feb and then not say anything at all until it just happens to launch today is a bit of a joke.
Great for UK'ers as we get it early, but not great for those who still have to wait over a month for something we thought would be available early April.

It's poor communication above all else.

Like you say, the phone needs to be extremely well received for peoples interest to pique again, especially with the S8 and G6 etc currently being readily available and in stores for people to try.

That photo looks cheap compared to my Passport.

Dude, I know you love BB10, but there's a lot to like about BB and Android.

Also, the KEYone basically looks like the Passport's slimmer, buffer brother, :p only with a proper keyboard that doesn't squash the space bar up into the bottom line of letters.

That thing looks ugly and plasticky. Not even talking about the software.

I am telling you what I see from that photo.

And the top looks terrible anyway.

Well that's your opinion so fair enough.

However I think it looks like a very good looking handset/device.

Honestly don't see how two devices which share so much design DNA that one is ugly and one is not ...

One looks like a rendering, the others look better, but maybe too dull.

In any case, it seems the webpage is a marketing FAIL.

Well no one can argue about their poor marketing - be it social media or their website.
But I wonder if you'd feel the same about it if it ran BB10 and not Android?

It would feel better already if it was engineered by BlackBerry.

It was...

I thought you were a BB fan? Surely then you would know that this is the last device that has been made in-house by BlackBerry.

TCL have had nothing to do with the design or build of this phone, it is all BB.

The phone was in production well over a year ago (nearly 2) when it was known as BlackBerry Vienna.
TCL just took over their hardware section late last year so all they're handling is the actual release and possible manufacturing.

Just because it runs Android doesn't mean it is any less a BlackBerry.

^ So essentially this is an asinine argument / case.

Essentially pointless to discuss as judgement has already been cast with no chance of repeal.

Ok let's move on ... for those that actually are interested rather than wallow in begrudgment.

Why can't you prefer to have Canadian backdoors instead of American ones?

Yes, if it runs Android it is NOT a BlackBerry.

My online Selfridges order is 'Ready for dispatch'.
Lots of others have same thing too.

According to a CB poster who went into London to buy one just now, they were the 600th purchase which I don't think is quite right, unless they're taking online orders into consideration with that too. Awaiting the stock update from my CPW colleague anyway to see where it's at.
