But I get that you kids don't use each others computers so fair enough. I just hope you don't have to buy two of everything!
Sounds like you bought it more for yourself than your gf, but that's generous of you.
Believe me, I've done the same for my wife, buying things for her because I was more excited about them than she was, so I hope your gf likes it. Congrats on the purchase.
Oh, don't break up with her!
Two iMacs, two beds, two towels, two toothbrushes...where does it end?!?
Um...he didnt
Yes, the question is why have 2 24" iMacs. I was just curious. My thinking is you can just create a seperate user account on the iMac for her or get her a Macbook (Pro) if you were looking for a second computer. That way you have a sweet desktop AND a sweet laptop.

Yeah, but why not a 20"? Or, heck, even a Mac mini? Does she really need all that power and screen real estate?
I still don't see what's wrong with two desktops in an apartment... it's what I have...

You gotta love this assumption that a 'she' wouldn't need all that "power and screen real estate"!
God bless Texas![]()
Mac Mini's are overpriced and underpowered.
The ring comes later.. as much as I think Apple stuff is overpriced, I think De Beers and the diamond exchange has Apple beat for markup.
Hahaha! Thanks for the laugh this morning. Sometimes I need to read something ridiculous to get me jump started on a cold morning.![]()
Yeah lets see. 2Ghz, 5400 rpm laptop drive (120 gig), 1 gig of ram. 64 meg intel GMA950 video - 799.
lowest end iMac. 2ghz, 7200rpm 250gb drive, 20" screen, 128mb dedicated video - 1199
yeah, mac mini is overpriced.
everything Apple makes is overpriced.
Nothings wrong with it, it just seems excessive to me. Apparently, judging by the reactions and the confusion I have created in this thread, my opinion is not shared by many.
