Also, as we're not married, our own things are just that - our own.

You've got to admit, you do decide this pretty randomly, though. I mean, I'm assuming you don't have separate fridges, ovens, dishes, and couches. So you're definitely willing to share some things, but not others. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm just saying it's a bit simplistic to say the reason you have two computers is because you're not married. It would be a bit more accurate to say you have two computers because you each like having your own computer; I don't really expect you'd change that whether you were married or not. :^)

box has the tiger desktop on it... i guess it's got a drop in leopard dvd. I hope so anyway, as the page says it should have it.

Hmm.. agree with some points. However, there is no joint income. We rent, so the fridge, sofa, oven all come with the place. We went halves on a kettle. I dunno...

I bought my (ex)girlfriend a macbook last year for Christmas. She as absolutely shocked. It was cool. 6 months later she accuses me of cheating on her, which I did not do, and then gave it back! Worked out for me in the long run. She was nutso

Yikes. At least you got it back, though. And it sounds like things worked out for the best.

I hate to tell you, but chicks really do not dig tech toys like we men do.

Im not sure she will get tthe same enjoyment from it as you do.

this is akin to her buying you a coach handbag for christmas...........very insensitive..

She's not your average girl. She doesn't have handbags herself.

If she hates it, oh well.

My girlfriend would love it if I bought her and iMac for crimbo. As it is she is getting an expensive purse and probably getting my old core 2 duo (white) iMac.

If I were gay, I think I'd choose you as a boyfriend...

Way to go man!

Much cheaper than a diamond ring, and perhaps even more scintillating!

Me and my b/f both have an iMac each. I have the 24" he has the 20". We live in a very small flat which only 2 rooms. I use mine for uni work (Flash, Photoshop ect) he just uses his for Football manager and internet. It would be a nightmare if we had to share one.

Forget the iMac, get her one of these gems!

If you wanna get technical, the mini is made for a niche market. It's made for folks who are looking to make the leap from PC to Mac, but don't want to put out 2 grand for something they may not like. Also, everything Apple makes is overpriced. But we who love them pay it without batting an eye.

It's also for people with 30" ACDs who have been waiting for the new Mac Pro since well before Labor Day.

...and porn, of course. For that reason alone, seems to me that he should have the 24.

That'd be a good engagement present.

Him: Will you marry me? (hands her the iMac)
Her: YESS! YAAY AN iMAC!!!! Did you say something hunny?

lol:cool:

My girlfriend, whom I live with is getting a 24" iMac for xmas! I'm so excited. I ordered it 2 months to the DAY I ordered mine.

Man I'm giddy..

I just ordered her 4gb of Mushkin memory from newegg for 107.99 shipped w/ a 20 dollar Mail in Rebate, making 4GB of ram 88 dollars!

Hey, hope I don't buzz into your business, but, why does she need 4 gigs of ram, does she do a lot of multitasking?

No, but again for 100 bucks does it matter? Nope. Do you do anything that requires the speed that computers run at to it's full capacity? Why not run a 400GHz computer then?

i do video editing in imovie HD, and am upgrading to final cut express, also, for dual booting into windows in the future, games, photoshop, web design, and overall performance.
