OK, this iphone 4 is definetely not comming in to PWND DFU, and is not something im doing wrong is just not doing it, on redsn0w it says Iphone 4 DFU mode and no matter how many times or how many tools i use to put it in PWND DFU, it just sound like it is doing it but it remains on just DFU.....

just if it helps, i checked the blobs i have and it says all 19 blobs verified for ecid xxxxxxxxx APTicket is MISSING....

first of all TriJetHero and dhlizard thanks a lot for keep helping me. I just want to make clear that in this case is not like dhlizard says it is an operator error I swear to God is not.

Now.... yes i have been trying the 4.3.3 (sorry, my mistake before, the blobls i do have aren´t for 4.3.5). Aboout the ApTicket i kind of know that was important for 5.xxx that is why i didnt give it as a detail on the begining.

I know this is going to sound weird but, every time use redsn0w, ifaith, snowbreeze, ireb or any other tool to put it in PWND DFU, (do you know that every time you put it in DFU or PWND DFU it makes a sound like connecting and disconnecting USB) it just dont make any noise the first attempt, it just make a noise the second attempt, and even that it is not on PWND DFU because if i run another window of redsn0w it says on the bottom DFU mode, not PWND DFU.... this is so frustrating...

Could it be any reason why an iphone will not respond to limera1n thing and will not get on to PWND DFU??? i dont know maybe bootroom or something... i really dont know....

you not making it easier not providing accurate information.

try all the steps again for 4.3.3

you tried sn0wbreeze?

just as info, if i use a NON custom ipsw 4.3.3 with the hosts set to Cydia, it gives me an error 21 BUT at least it remains on the white screen in recovery mode. If after that with the white screen on y change the hosts back to apple and then restore (remember with the white screen) it gives error 3194 and the screen becomes red, but with some pattern,.. i dont know how to explain it.. is not simply red and then it gradually turns in to black but the screen stays on, in black but on.

----------

i have been trying all the steps before with the 4.3.3 but didnt tell you because i didnt want to confuse you... sorry about it.. and yes i tried snowbreeze as well.. same result...

like said before you need to be in DFU

error 21 means you not in DFU

3194 means your host is still not functioning,
did you check the host file and does it contain:
74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

if in recovery mode, white screen i try to install restore normal no shifts or anything just ios 6 it gives the same colored pattern screen but this time in orange... god my phone looks like a disco.... yes it does contains it definietly.

how can i not be in dfu when itunes recongnizes the phone in dfu mode and redsnow does it aswel???

to be sure

Recovery mode is a black screen showing the connect to itunes logo on the phone
DFU is a black screen not showing anything on the phone

iTunes never says found a phone in DFU, it says found a phone in recovery regardless of recovery mode or DFU mode.

ok, then, is good to know that.. what does it mean a white screen.. nothing on it.. and a black screen (on, but black) nothing on??

conclusion is that you never have been in dfu or pwn-dfu hence no restore.
you started out that you knew the difference….

last try

connect phone, hold home and power until screen turns off, count 3 more seconds while holding both, now release power button while holding home for another 10 seconds.

phone should now be in DFU and not showing anything.

try restoring a stock iOS 6 with shift-restore (win) or ALT-restore(mac)

if that doesn't work you have a hardware failure

well, that is what i have been doing trough all this process, and yes i do know difference bettween those two (dfu and restore), the only thing i did never spot is that itunes always says the same, that is what i meant with that is good to know....

Turn of the screen and:

"onnect phone, hold home and power until screen turns off, count 3 more seconds while holding both, now release power button while holding home for another 10 seconds." is not possible, as it is always off, except on the other weird cases i told you. i Know is on dfu mainly cause redsnow says it and itunes recognize it as a phone needs to be restored. Even that, i did it again, and yes it fails again with error 1600

So i was right.. saddly this is bricked i guess... thanks any way for all the help.

----------

Do you live in the UK?? i would kindly send it to you so you can do as many test as you can to see im not crazy or an idiot... it is just.... not working as it should..

Okay, just to be absolutely clear: if you really in DFU mode, your phone's screen will be COMPLETELY black and when you plug it in iTunes will recognize a phone in Recovery Mode. Is that the case?

If so, could you please give us the EXACT name of the .ipsw file that you are trying to install on your phone?

""""""Okay, just to be absolutely clear: if you really in DFU mode, your phone's screen will be COMPLETELY black and when you plug it in iTunes will recognize a phone in Recovery Mode. """"If so, could you please give us the EXACT name of the .ipsw file that you are trying to install on your phone? """"

RESPONSE:: I have been trying a lot of them, different ones.

- original 6.0: downloaded from itunes and forom getios.com
- 5.1.1: donloaded from getios.com, and i tried customize (NO_BB), not customized (just normal), customize and blobs stiched.
-4.3.3: donloaded from getios.com, and i tried customize (NO_BB), not customized (just normal), customize and blobs stiched.

But all of that seems to be, or not working or missin a few stepts or doing something wrong, so i would be like a freaking robot, just tell me what to do and i will do in same order all of it, i will tell you results, if you want i can give you my skype name and share screen with you

You did not answer my question. I asked for the exact filename of the .ipsw file. You did not give me that for even one of the .ipsw's you used. Trust me, I'm not asking this for my own amusement.

sorry, i wasn't trying to avoid the cuestion, i might missunderstood what you said before... As i said im sapnish and i get lost sometimes. Here is the names for all the different .ipsw i have used (I know some of them is like.. wtf are you using that for?? but it was complete desperation):

To be fair i got a big mess in my head with all of this by now, so that is why i'm saying, tell me what do you want me to do exactly and i will do it and post results. In that list might be some repeated ones, as i have been working on mac and PC... Sorry, i know is a mess but... i dont know exactly if that is what you want...

@thelatinist

You have way more patience than most of us.

No wonder the thread starter has scrambled up his phone. Instead of listening to advice or following a tutorial, he is obviously throwing anything and everything he can find to download into his phone with no idea why or what he is doing.

Sadly, this could have been resolved by the 3rd post !

dhlizard sorry if I make you waste your time, that is never been my intention.

I don’t know what you mean with the 3rd post, I have to say that since I start speaking with you i have done everything step by step as you and the rest of you that are trying to help me said I have to do.

thelatinist he asked me about all the .ipsw i have tried, and that is what I have done, I’m not saying that all of them comes from the solutions you gave me, but I’m just saying everything I tried. Since you all start guiding me through the whole process I just stick with your instructions but something is not working properly.

Once more really really sorry about making you angry about this whole situation but I just need some help, and I agree with you that on the beginning I was a bit lost doing this thing cause I wasn’t sure which ios it was on the beginning as the guy who sold it to me is a liar, and that makes me go in circles about everything and then.. got lost.

Just so I can prove it is not just me being a stupid Spaniard, can you please kindly send me a link to the tutorial you suggest is going to sort it out and I will follow it even on Skype with you if you want.

thanks

@thelatinist
it gave 3194 and then i spotted i had the wrong hosts file, once i fixed that host file (windows) it gave 1602 or 1600 (cant remember exactly).

then i try it on the mac (havent touch the hosts file) and it gave 1602

I'm in the office now and unfortunetly I dont have the phone here, but I will do it again this afternoon and as soon as I got the error I will posted to you here, so we can be sure about it. Just to be sure you want me to do this:

1. Be sure hosts file is pointing to apple (check going to gs.apple.com)
2. Put iphone in DFU mode NOT PWND DFU
3. shift restore--> use this file iPhone3,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw

Thanks

Okay, please do exactly the following on your Mac:

1. Make sure that you have iTunes version 10.7 (21) installed.

2. Disable any firewall software you have installed. If possible, plug your computer directly into your modem to bypass any issues with your router.

3. Enter gs.apple.com in the location bar of Safari. Make sure that it takes you to a page with an Apple copyright notice at the bottom.

4. Download this firmware file (it is a fresh copy of iPhone3,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw directly from Apple's download server).

5. Put your phone in DFU mode by following the steps in this tutorial from iClarified. Please follow these instructions to the letter.

5. Option-click 'Restore' in iTunes, select the file you downloaded in step 3, and follow the instructions.

6. Write down exactly what happens, including the exact text of any error iTunes gives you.

7. Report back here with the results.

Ok, will do it in a couple of ours when ever i go back home and i will follow it word by word and tell you results

Thanks a lot to all of you thanks thanks thanks!

Ok,

1. Make sure that you have iTunes version 10.7 (21) installed. THIS IS CHECKED, I HAVE THAT VERSION.

2. Disable any firewall software you have installed. If possible, plug your computer directly into your modem to bypass any issues with your router. NO FIREWALL, AND CONNECTED DIRECTLY ON TO THE ROUTER WITH RJ45 WIRE
3. Enter gs.apple.com in the location bar of Safari. Make sure that it takes you to a page with an Apple copyright notice at the bottom. CHECKED, IT GOES TO APPLE WEBSITE

4. Download this firmware file (it is a fresh copy of iPhone3,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw directly from Apple's download server). DONE, DOWNLOADED FROM THAT LINK

5. Put your phone in DFU mode by following the steps in this tutorial from iClarified. Please follow these instructions to the letter. DONE, USED THE TUTORIAL FOR DFU

5. Option-click 'Restore' in iTunes, select the file you downloaded in step 3, and follow the instructions. DONE

6. Write down exactly what happens, including the exact text of any error iTunes gives you. THE IPHONE "IPHONE" COULD NOT BE RESTORED AN UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURRED (1600).

[I HAVE TO SAY THAT IT TOOK LONGER TO PROMPT AN ERROR, LIKE 2 MINUTES IF I USE PWNAGE TOOL TO HELP ME PUTTING IT ON DFU MODE, AND IT IS 1601, THIS ONE, HAS NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE. I KNOW YOU DIDNT ASK ME TO DO THAT BUT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE BETTER TO HAVE SOME HELP DOING THIS DFU MODE FOR THE EXACT 10 SECONDS]

Make sure the hosts file is set to default. Make sure TinyUmbrella isn't interfering. Then plug your iPhone in, put it in DFU, then restore by just clicking on Restore. iTunes will download the correct firmware file and it will work. If it doesn't, either there's still something on your computer/network interfering or whoever sold you the phone screwed something up on a massive scale, probably hardware-related.

My recommendation to you is to use a different computer with a different network or try to get a refund somehow.

Hosts file is correct, i went on to gs.apple.com, and as far as i know 1601 is nothing to do with the hosts file, tinyumbrella is not even on this computer. I tried to just clic in restore before and it just didnt work, the link that thelatinist provide me is from apple servers. I tried it in 2 different computers, different os and diferent cables, the only think in common is the router.
