I’m willing to believe for some, if the notch was eliminated, the $1000 price point would be easier to manage,

Are you saying if Face ID remained & Apple simply blacked out the top strip in all Apps, people would then be content handing over the exorbitant cost for the iPhone X/XS?

If so, I can’t fathom that. It’s a ridiculously shallow mindset imo. (This isn’t aimed at you. I’m considering your actual example of the person you’re describing).

Or are you saying if the Home-buttoned design of the iPhone 8 (& Touch ID) were retained?

I have yet to own one of the new phones but I suspect I’ll be frustrated by this as well.

It's awesome. I love the bezel-less phones. Only those select few who actually have one and have problems for their own peculiar reason (fair enough) and those who haven't actually owned one are worried about it.

Don't understand the obsession with getting rid of bezels and 'chins'. Sounds to me like a case of form over function regardless of the cost.

Umm you can have a bigger screen without increasing size of the phone . The X is basically the same as the 8 or 7 with a bigger screen

This is the crux of my issue with Apple only making larger phones though.

The way that I, and many others, use phones doesn't require any more content on the screen, I can read it fine and I don't need to "multi-task" on my phone.

I fully recognize that some people do use their phones that way but I just wish Apple wouldn't abandon those of us that do not and simply want a super light/small/portable/pocketable iOS device.

The XS and X is pocketable ....
