As far as the Midnight color is concerned, it is merely a rumor but one I would highly believe.

Apple always gives a compelling reason to upgrade to a second-gen product by offering a unique color. It is expected, for example, to be the case with the next ULTRA watch which many are expecting will be offered in a dark color.

Same thing with the STUDIO. Initially, the Pro Minis were offered in Space Grey. It makes sense, in an effort to differentiate itself from the current M1 model, a Midnight color could be designated to the M2.

No. This is very unlikely. Apple does not “always offer a unique color” for their products.

For things like the iPhone, Apple Watch, and MacBook Air - these are some of apples best selling products. They sell tens of millions of units. For these products it makes sense to offer color options.

For niche products like the studio, apple is going to make one color. This historically would be either silver or space grey. They always offer a neutral color at minimum, and I highly doubt apple sells enough Mac studios to justify a second color option.

Like others have said, that video is not a good source. He doesn’t know anything - it’s all speculation just like Max Tech. It’s no different than anyone here making speculations.

I can't stand Max Tech. All his videos are link baits where he claims he has release dates and product specs of future Apple products and you find out...well...

Yeah it’s all clickbait.

“I figured out Apples MASTER PLAN for the MacBook”

No… no you didn’t Max. Some of his stuff he backs up with credible rumors, but so many of his videos are pure speculation just because he needs to make a video. Thats the biggest problem with all these Apple YouTubers - there’s just not enough news to sustain a channel year-round so they’re forced into creating clickbait speculation videos. I think the one person I can stand is Luke Miani - he minimizes sensationalized clickbait topics and clearly states when he’s just speculating. Most of the time he’s backing up his claims with at least one credible rumor.

I like Luke Miani's channel because most of it isn't actually rumour stuff. A lot of the videos are refurbs, etc.

As for the colour, IMO if you want the best looks over time, silver is the best because the other colours can be scratched off and look like @ss when they do get scratched. I was pleasantly surprised when the Mac Studio only came in silver. Admittedly though, this is less of an issue for a Mac mini / Mac Studio than for a MacBook Pro.

He is right. The video you posted is full of nonsense.

No, there is not going to be a midnight studio. That would go against everything Apple has done in the past x amount of years. If you follow Apple as closely as you say then you should know this guy in the video is telling nonsense.

Don't believe it.

As far as the other poster arrogance - he wasn't arrogant at all. He just pointed out how silly the video is, why and stated what is not going to happen. Nothing is certain but what is certain is that midnight colour will not be in the next revision of studio let alone studio display.

Anyway, lets see what spring event brings for us. WWDC will be interesting too.

Take yourself down a few pegs. Unless you are getting information directly from Apple, you shouldn't be so arrogant and sure of yourself.

At least I used the word "rumor" and didn't present myself as if I had definitive information on any upcoming release.

I think those rumors operating online re Mac Studio and new colors have got it from below site 😂

Next question, how is not Apple's products not more brand protected?
Or was it the other way, their Mac Studio existed before Apple's? But still, Mac?

If I would guess on other color options they could add to the Studio, it would be Space Grey and Gold on a quality machine as the Studio, not Midnight.
Like the difference of colors between MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
At least I wouldn't trade my Studio Silver in for a Midnight. It looks great on my iPhone Mini, not to have on my desk.

But the guessing is not TOO far out in my opinion, and I've only had Macs since 1994.
It all comes from the colored Apple, and Apple have been fairly brave with their colors over the years.

Mac is a makeup company that has been around for years. They also go by M•A•C too. I highly doubt rumors were started because of makeup colors. Surely nobody is that stupid.

Because Apple has lines and some lines are more playful etc. (so the colours are there) and some are not. As Apple design language goes, there is simply no way that they would do midnight Apple Display and Studio. That would be major derail from their style.

Yes, I have to ask and I'm totally new to Apple. How would you know?

It's only been nine months since it was launched, if you need it now, buy it now. I reckon it'll be at least a year before there's anything else in the Mac Studio line.
This.

I just bought a Studio 2 days ago.

The 10 year-ago Mac obsessed me would have waited. But back then, the updates were coming in quick and fast, often multiple times a year per product.

Check the buyers guide now...
- Mac Pro 1100 days and counting
- MacBook Pros are set to have the 2 slowest turn arounds in 6+ years
- iMac - longest update wait in years (Only one is longer in the last 6 years)
- Mac mini - longest update wait since 2014.

Point being - who knows when the 300 day old Mac Studio will get updated.

If you need it, buy it. If you don't have a ticking clock, and can potentially wait up to a year.. then wait.

I bit the bullet
