how about the new alu. macbooks with the nvidia 9400m gt?how will the cod 4 run? if nayone has a copy of the mac version and has a alu macbook or knows someone with one, can u try it out and post fps and stuff?

I know that COD 4 will run on the new macbooks. it said that it should run up to 5x faster then on the earlier macbook models, they have some basic info on the apple site (http://www.apple.com/macbook/graphics.html) but yea if anyone has actual fps numbers im curious as to how well it runs also.

The Mac version technically is the Windows version running through a translation layer.

The same can be said of good old Battlefield 1942. The CD key for the Mac version works in Windows.

Yes. Should work 100%.
Here are the minimum system requirements:

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5.4 (Leopard) | Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo | CPU Speed: 2.0 GHz | Memory: 1 GB RAM Hard Disk Space: 8.0 GB + 1 GB Swap File | Video Card (ATI): Radeon X1600 | Video Card (NVidia): GeForce FX 7300 | Video Memory (VRam): 128 MB | Media Required: DVD-ROM | Peripherals: Macintosh mouse and keyboard. | Multiplayer Requirements: Internet (TCP/IP) or LAN (TCP/IP) play supported Internet plays requires broadband connection.

What graphics settings?

Just whatever was default, then I just changed the resolution to 1280x800.

I attached the picture below.

I assume there are many dips in multiplayer? Because my last gen penryn macbook pro can't keep up with those settings. I have to turn spectral (sp) map off.

But indoors I get +100 FPS. Its when smoke comes along or I'm on a map like the Creek one that it drops to around 30.

And this is the PC version by the way.

Can someone test COD4 on the new Macbooks. I am really curious to see what kind of fps they get, so far I saw that tf2 got anywhere from 30-60 fps on high settings and I only care about those two games.

Thanks,
ChrisN

how about a CORE DUO 2.16ghz haha. does it HAVE to be a C2D? i have the x1600 and 2GB of RAM..

It should run - there isn't too much difference in speed between the CDs and C2Ds at similar clock speeds.

What that doesn't tell us is the frame rate, nor does it indicate settings.

Yes.. Can someone please elaborate? Is it at all glitchy on the previous MacBooks (because I have one)? How are they on MacBooks with 1 GB ram? If you need more computer specs, let me know, because I really want to know how this game would play on my computer!!

On plastic MB with X3100 graphics - lowest settings (including resolution) will hopefully get you 5-10 FPS.

I have a base aluminium macbook on order (not delivering till 3-4nov tho :-( aint great) Still in terms of cod 4 pianoplayer 1 was talking about downloading the mac version and using his windows key. i have the retail windows version on disc (with key obv). can i install onto os x using this disc and my key or do i have to download the mac version then use my key, and if so, where can i legitimately download it from (not talking pirate bay etc)

thanks peeps - so exited!

Still not a peep about the Source games either :( What is with all you MB peeps!? Set you priorities =)
