Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 advice needed

sorry the wrong 3d but i can't open a new 3d..
maybe because i'm a new members..

and sorry for bad english.. i'm italian.

You can open "New Threads" via the

button, which is accessible on the relevant forum page, where all the threads are listed.

this is first time that i try to play a game on mine mac (buy one months ago).

mine friend pass me Call of duty modern warfare 2.mdg

the mac create a virtual image of it.. unless install, only with double clik i lounce the game.

after about 30 second appear me a message:
" invalid version" i can click on botton "exit".. but after about 30 seconds appear me yet the same message..


how i can solve it?

Pretty much as the title says, I've got a MacBook and really want to get this game, but was wandering, I currently only have the trackpad so would probably need something else I'm guessing? What do people have to help them play the game like controllers?

For an FPS like MW2, the ideal setup is a keyboard and external mouse with at least 2 buttons. So all you'd need is an external mouse if you don't already have one. The Magic Mouse is absolutely amazing--when you have BetterTouchTool installed--for general purpose use, but for FPSes, it's just not appropriate at all. So you can get a really inexpensive Logitech or Microsoft mouse, or their higher end models. There's also gaming specific brands like Razer, which tend to have higher DPI, lots of custimization, lots more buttons, macros, on board memory, etc. Razer's also released new Mac drivers for some of their most popular mice recently, so it's about as customizable as the Windows experience.

You can use a gamepad, and play the game like the console version, but that's a vastly inferior way of playing an FPS.

Yep. I'm enjoying COD4 now, so I'm in no rush to get MW2 yet. By the time I'm sick of COD4, MW2 may have been ported.

he allow me to play at the single missions (like make 30000 points of kill, make the race with motosnow ecc ecc) but when i play at the real game he crash..

Please help me when i try to play COD MW2, the screen is like black and white.. always like that... then i tried to change the anti aliasing to 4x ( max ). Then it got better but still then screen still disturbed. by the way my OS now is the newest version of mountain lion. please help me if there are some advice about my setting for MW2

How are you playing it? You say your OS is Mt Lion, but MW2 doesn't run on OS X natively. Are you running it in boot camp? wrapper? virtual machine?

I run the game (Steam version) in Crossover, a wrapper for Windows programs. I've noticed that since Lion, the screen goes blank when I change graphic settings in games like MW2 & MW3.

The fix for me is to force terminate the game and just run it again. It'll ask if I want to start in Safe Mode, I select "no"and the game usually starts fine in with the graphic settings I selected.

Sounds like it may have a wine wrapper to it. Not judging or anything, as I don't know if you actually own the game, but I personally don't support pirating.

But if you're looking to purchase some OS X native games, some of my favorites are: COD4, AOE3 w/expansions, Assassin's Creed 2 & Brotherhood, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Bioshock, Team Fortress 2.
