How did you find that? Well its open to offers too, with 10% going to a charity that means a lot to me :)

You don't have to explain anything, hope you get the money you want for it! ;)

Your auction on ebay is not a secret is it? Its not hard to find, if you know what to look for!

You should consider shipping worldwide. Its more likely to get the big bucks for it! :)

Thanks! Thought about worldwide shipping, but past experiences and stories of fraudsters claiming they never receive things and getting full refunds scared me off :(

Do not let that scare you of. I live in Europe and it is hard to find people who want to send overseas sometimes. I can't see why people in Europe would deceive more than americans...
Well, It's a pity, for there is a lot of serious buyers out there!

I agree with you Labbe, but "yateseyd1991" is from the UK ;)

Guess you guys were right, sold to a buyer in Germany for the asking price, a collector who's aim is to own all models in every capacity and colour!

This can't be right, right?

Look at this auction on ebay...

1st generation Jimi Hendrix iPod

"I am the original owner of this 1st generation 10GB iPod. It comes in the original packaging with the Jimi Hendrix picture on it. I removed the UPC from the box and have added a photo showing this - there must have been a rebate of some kind for me to do that to the box.
The only thing that isn't original is the headphones, but I am including the brand new ones in the picture. This is a true collector's item and is in working condition. Serial number on the about screen and the back of the iPod are the same. I have restored it back to factory defaults. If you have any questions whatsoever, feel free to ask and I will respond asap."

I have emailed the guy with some questions, but he hasn't replied yet
The serial on the iPod (GQ24500XML1) tells us its NOT a first gen and its a refurbished pod! This tells us he couldn't be the original owner, and the iPod does NOT belong to that box!! The guy has cut away the original serial from the box and bought a refurb, claiming it to be original, hoping to get alot of money for it!!

You tell me...am I wrong? How can anybody pay more than 100$ for this?? Who the hell think this is a collectors item?  :(

Ebay

This is the one...I've cut the picture to fit 800x600 px ;)

I'm with you on this one!! Cut out the serial on the box? Wtf? This is a fraud!

Its a fraud to say its a 1st gen iPod with original box! Its still a nice iPod, but the box is rubbish! :D

The seller actually contacted me and reassured me it was genuine! He stated he bought the iPod in the box which is IMPOSSIBLE! Stay away from this one

As an avid iPod collector. I would avoid the auction. Thanks for the heads up

No problem! By the way, have you shared your collection with us? Please do. This thread needs to be updated ;)

I'll try and post new pictures of my collection :D

You Sir have an amazing collection, but the photo is from 2010. Do you have a newer picture? Any updates? Do you still have them on that table?

What is wrong with people???

I'm curious...what is your opinion on "sealed" iPods? People in general seems to have some strange ideas about this.

I say a sealed iPod is an iPod inside a box, shrink wrapped with plastic, never opened, never touched by any human consumer hands! Nothing else!

No disrespect or anything towards MattyMac or anybody, MattyMac is a god to me starting the best thread ever in any forum, but the "don't-steal-music"plasic around the iPod itself is not sealed to me! It's very easy, if you do it carefully, to open and close this plastic again and again, due to its silicone glue.

I'd like to know what y'all think about this ;)

What the hell?  Almost 500 views and NO reply?

Am I the only collector left out there with the energy to maintain this thread??

Don't get upset ;) With regard to the sealed ipod argument. I have had a couple of sealed in box ipods come accross my path (ipod mini 1st gen and 5th generation classic in 2010), but I opened them. Why? because I wanted to use the 5th gen classic, and I bought the sealed box mini just so my gf could experience the 'opening an ipod cube box' experience that she had never had.

If the price of the ipods sealed were to go up to £1000 ($1570), I still think the experience would have been worth it!

Upset? I've made 21 posts of the last 42 of this thread! That's 50%. Almost 500 views in two days and no reply! Of course I'm upset! It feels like I'm talking to my self

I think you misunderstood my question! Do you think an iPod is sealed if the box is opened? Some people do, I don't! That's the question :)

A while back I remember seeing a website of someone who has collected every iPod in every colour. Anybody know the one I'm talking about? There was a huge gallery and everything.

P.S. To me sealed means original shrink wrap never been opened box. Anything else is just new

To me, once the box is opened, I can't even be sure that it is 100% new. So sealed for me can only ever mean in box and in the original shrinkwrapping

So I found the website, shrineofapple.com, but they don't seem to have a photo of all of em up. Anyway...

If you had the choice to add any iPod to your collection, which one would it be and why? (don't all be boring and say a sealed first gen ;))

Ipod Nano 5th gen Yellow,Orange,Product red and Pink is what i want to finish my ipod nano 5th gen collection.

Also from the 3rd gen ipod nano line up,pink, product red and black are the ones i need.

Other then that i think that would be the ones i'm after for the time being. Will buy more 4th gen and 6th gen nano's later on and the older ipods as well.

I have to be boring I'm afraid.. my top 5 in order of desirability:

1. iPod 1st gen
2. an iPod photo to use every day
3. an iPod nano 1st gen
4. an ipod nano 2nd gen (product red)
5. an iPod nano 3rd gen

Then again, i'd like something that i feel is worth continuing to collect (the new ones just don't excite me much), and i'm turning to collecting ipads and iphones now!

mine are fairly typical, in all honesty :)

1. harry potter ipod!
2. gold 1st gen mini
3. 15gb 3rd gen
4. 2nd gen nano - product (red)
5. 1st gen ipod

i've always been in awe of the harry potter and the ipod minis - i guess thats cause they're the two i remember!!!

I refurbished a 20GB iPod Photo myself but would love to have a mint condition one with box, would use the one i have as an every day iPod. Would love to get my hands on a red 3G iPod Nano, those things are nice!

Yer.the third gen nano's are pretty good as i have silver, light blue and light green all sealed but i'm looking for the other three which includes the product red one.
