I have an iPhone 4, Camera+ v 1.2.1, and I have pictures in Lightbox. The bug really does exist
I didn't doubt that. I just said that it does not exist for me. iPh4, 32 GB, iOS 4.0.2 (it was the same with 4.0.1), never jailbroken, Camera+ version 1.2.1. I tried to reproduce the error as described
here in this thread but it didn't occur.
and has been documented in this thread as well as others (see TUAW's Camera+ post).
Sorry for those with the issue. But really strange that some have it and some not.
Anyways, its really a non issue if you just switch back to the camera with the camera icon in the lightbox.
Good to know—if the non issue shows up magically sometimes. Thank you.
The virtual touch control shutter button worked always fine for me since I know that it releases only when you
lift off the finger or just
glide away (if you want to hold the device steady).
There is no need to tap and to look at the screen for releasing camera shutter. (This important fact is rarely known and affects almost all iOS virtual buttons and switches esp. keyboard.)
What I would like to have much more than this hardware release via volume controls (okay it's good to have an option and I enabled it because it won't hurt or harm other functions too much and it enables continuous full size shooting as described in my previous posting): When your iPhone is in standby mode, both home button and standby button have the same function, they bring up the unlock slider. When you want to start any camera you have to accomplish at least three interactions and you must look at the screen. When there was a foreground app running you need even more taps until any viewfinder will show up.
Being fast is sometimes a very important factor for irretrievable photo documents.
It would be really, really smart if I had the option to be able dedicating one of those redundant buttons for immediate camera start (maybe with "double click"). Would be ready for shooting much quicker. But I am afraid this will stay a dream forever…
Okay it's a phone primarily. But the camera is good enough to be supported as much as possible.
