Yep, you will be fine, except that you will probably want a new iPad in about 3 years from now anyway. 😉
The iPad I had before this one was first gen 12.9. Bought it in 2016 when they released 256gb size. My first iPad was the very first ipad in 2010. Best thing ever. Then I got the iPad 3rd or 4th gen in 2012 before I got the pro. I made my iPad Pro last longer than the first two iPads. I still have my 3rd gen iPod still works but battery sucks on my bedside for music, my iPhone 6 plus for music to listen to on my art desk. I use my iPhone XS Max for phones etc. I am sure I can make this iPad last at least 6 plus years. :). My iMac I bought in 2014 is a 2013 refurbish model, and still working great :). Yeah I think I can make my items last a good 6 plus years :)

edit: too many errors on here. I need more coffee lol

Respect. ✌️ I have been using iPad Air 2 for over six years too and just recently upgraded it to Air 4, passing Air 2 along to the family. 😊

So you needed it before, and now you don’t? Do the apps you envisaged working with suddenly not work? Or you assumed all that power would only be useful for the os? Or you bought it on the off chance that X feature or whatever you envisaged in your own head would be released? What a weird way to live.
I admit that I made a mistake in ordering it before it was useful for my music recording needs. I bought into the hype that this M1 iPad Pro would be put out with Logic Pro working version on iPad soon to follow. Well, I jumped the gun knowing that I could downgrade if it didn't happen. It didn't. So here I am with a downgraded version coming my way. It's as easy as that.

Did they start your window when you ordered?

Mine doesn‘t close til June is over.
Window started when I received my order, but I have the cellular model… that’s why it was only 14 days. If I had WiFi-only model it would of been longer…

Why do you prefer it? There isn't a difference in performance in the 8GB model and the 16GB model.
Hype 😂😂 all Apple did was write a small footnote mentioning that the higher storage configs would have 16gb ram. The rest is made up in people’s heads.
Predictable cycle in all forums. Hype Spirals to excitement to accepted “facts”. Then reality triggers geek rage in various forms like some posts here. What’s amazing is some don’t learn from experience and can’t wait to repeat the cycle. It is entertaining to watch over the years though.

10 years 😳😂 I hope for your sake it does, but I highly doubt it.
We still have the original ipads and ipad minis which the kids use and mostly only for games. 8 yrs later, the ipads still work. My mom even uses hers just to zoom. The kids don’t care what ios is it or what they can do with it as long as they have games on it 😆

It may not be strictly needed. Nonetheless, I find it makes using the iPad less annoying.

I much prefer this 1TB/16GB config for $1799/1999 than I would’ve a 1TB/8GB config for $1599/1799. Granted, 8GB is still a quite helpful upgrade from the 4GB on most 2015-18 iPP models.
Wow! Didn’t realize iPad pros prices are around $1799! It’s already the price of laptops! 😲

They hit that 3 years ago with the 2018 1TB.

11" Wi-Fi $1549
11" LTE $1699

12.9" Wi-Fi $1749
12.9" LTE $1899

With that said, I typically buy $600-800 laptops so even the older iPads have always been laptop priced to me particularly after storage and LTE upgrades (e.g. $829 iPad 3 64GB LTE). Huh, compared to the iPad 3, suddenly the $799 11" 128GB Wi-Fi and $949 11" 128GB 5G isn't looking too bad. :p

Mine went back on Tuesday (M1 11" 16gb/1tb/5g) and an iPad Air 4 (256/LTE) is incoming on Monday. Yes, I did fall for the hype of MacOS quality apps for the beast. I have ALWAYS wanted an iPad Pro that was a MacBook Air light - the ultimate portable when alone as an iPad and a laptop when docked to keyboard/trackpad, but it is clear that even the $1999 12.9 16gb.1tb is merely an accessory to a MacBook and hopefully (from Apple's perspective) a MacBook AND an iMac. The more screens you buy the merrier Tim gets...

So I decided if an iPad is only a sidekick/sidecar for a real laptop, why go beyond the Air 4. Now let's see if Apple can disappoint once more when they deign to reveal the MBP 14 this fall...
