Radiation DOES have effects, but not at the levels you are seeing in your iPhone and surely not supported by any reputable research.

Here is your reputable research from the EWG.**

All PDAs/Smartphones ranked by radiation:

Phones made by Apple, with service for AT&T:

Sorry, but not reputable and maybe a step above your Dr. Mercola. The EWG is akin to UCS, but I wouldn't say they're even that reputable. Try something from the WHO or the U.S. National Cancer Insitute. But no, you won't do that, because you are dead set on finding anything to prove that radiation is deadly, no matter what the source.

Sunlight, also known as visible light, has UVA and UVB waves in it. The UVA and UVB waves are not deflected by our ozone. UVB waves cause harmful radiation to your cells.

With this information, which is true, we all should live underground as mole people.

Talk on your phone and die of cancer? Please...

So you dispute the radiation results from the EWG? What the EWG posted was not an opinion. Those radiation numbers are facts. Now are those levels dangerous? Well that depends on who you ask. Longer-term studies will hopefully find the answer for all. Until then, use at your own risk...

It's called sunscreen. LOL... But please don't try to use it. Instead I would suggest to take up smoking. It won't kill you today...

This thread reminds me of news casts from the late 90's early 2000's....

"NEXT ON HARD COPY... A STAPLER THAT COULD INJURE YOU!"

"WOMAN RUSHED TO THE HOSPITAL FOR COUNTING SHEETS OF PAPER AND ENDED UP WITH PAPER CUT!... Tonight at 11"

"CHILD BORN WITH BIRTH DEFECTS BECAUSE MOTHER DRANK FROM RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES"

When you look at the raw data, the iPhone is no better or worse than the next phone... I hate how we live in fear... just live life.

Just use it. You die when you die. No reason to be extra cautious. We all die eventually. If your iPhone brings you joy, use it.

You bought the "blue tube" head set, correct? I've already told you what sources you should be using. 'nuf said. :)

My grandmother died of cancer. My mother had cancer. So yeah I'm more concerned about getting cancer. So go ahead and keep making fun of the situation.

Right now there are hundreds of thousands of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation traveling through your body.

Your iPhone is not going to give you cancer.

Sorry your mother and grandmother died of cancer. However, their dying has nothing to do with the iPhone, and your bringing it up is illogical and to me a way to try to gain sympathy. My grandfather died of cancer. My wife had cancer. So? That means nothing to this thread. You bought the head set. Clearly that guy you linked is a kook, who is playing on your fear. Those are just the facts.

Why do you insist on using whatever studies support your conclusion, no matter how flawed or invalid? Why aren't you posting "There are these studies from the WHO and NCI that show cell phones do not cause cancer," instead of the ones you "select?" That kind of flawed reasoning could be applied to anything to show it is true.

It most certainly can. However, there are numerous more objects that emit RF noise (waves) than cause cancer waaay faster than what an iPhone can. A great example is your Car, TV set, Stove, Microwave, and any electric wiring passing near your house.

Not to mention the 100,000 megawatts of RF coming from all the TV antennas, radio towers, GPSs, cell towers, CB repeaters, short wave stuff, the sun, etc.

Cell phones don't give you cancer.

I'm going to because I know half a dozen people who have died of cancer but it wasn't from a cellular phone! My God apparently people aren't aware of other objects that put out 999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999x the power of an iPhone that are beaming through there skull as they read this post that have yet to cause them cancer. Everything can cause you cancer practically it seams now a days. I can't even believe this is still being faught over, my health teacher tried to bring this up today and I called BS on it immediately. Guess what? The laptop that's sitting on your lap could give you guys testicular cancer! Better start using ethernet cables instead! Or how about that Microwave! Cooks your food who says it can't cook your brains!

Seriously?

If you're worried about cancer, a cell phone is the last of your worries. First, you need to quit drinking and/or smoking, then completely change your DNA make-up because chances are that someone in your family has or had cancer, then lock yourself in a bubble underground somewhere in Alaska.

The point is: there will always be something that MAY or may not raise your chances of getting cancer when you're 110 years old. However, chances are you will die of some other cause before that. So live your life and don't worry about something as ridiculous as getting cancer from a cell phone.

I brought this up because I was expressing why I have a high concern about getting cancer. And as I stated, my mother had cancer. She is now cancer free. My grandmother died from it. I figure one day I will get cancer. So whatever I can do to reduce my chances I'm all for.

The radiation results are not flawed. One can debate how harmful they are but those are valid numbers.

Yes you can get cancer from many things. But as "jav6454" posted, you can't 100% rule out the cell phone. No one can at this time.

As for the others who have posted, professionals in this field are not in complete agreement of the harm of cell phones. That is a fact. I'm not giving up my iPhone. So I hope many of you are right. Only time will tell. We shall see...

If you're going to quote me, don't pick and choose what you want to take me out of context. This is what you do with your sources of info. And I'm one of the "professionals in the field." Calling me a jerk is uncalled for.

Edit: I bothered to look further into this EWG you are so hot on (and I've never heard of....for good reason). Not one of the....IDK what to call them..."experts"....even have a PhD. Most don't even have an M.S. and one of the founders doesn't even have a science or engineering degree.

I can see why you would be concerned, but everyone is making fantastic points against you, if you are this worried about electronic devices giving you cancer, I would highly recommend 1 of 3 things heading to a place called Lancaster, PA home of the Amish... building an underground bunker and locking yourself in, or a padded room... Regardless of your family members having cancer, stop living in fear and live your life! You only get one shot, make the most of it and stop sweating the small stuff.

I feel like I am talking someone off of a ledge.

wasn't this covered in a radiation thread already ?

You have scientists + randomized studies + the FCC showing that phones don't put out enough ( or the right kind) of radiation to cause damage

then you have hypochondriacs, correlation (studies) and Dr. Mercola ( who is trying to sell a book btw) on the other side saying phones do cause cancer

The reason rates of brain cancer have been going up is because doctors are catching it more ( brain CT's and mri's are way more common now)
