thanks, but why would anyone want that? I mean, what's the point?
There is a big market for presets. I am unsure who use them as the colours out of your camera are usually pretty spot on. I believe some people want to recreate certain looks, like a specific film they used, but you can just move the sliders until victory.

That's what I thought as well. But anyway, good there's choices.

Anyone have experience of how the M1-optimized Capture pro performs like?
My trial period went out before the M1-version was released so I can't try it out my self unfortunately.
How is the performance compared to the rosetta/intel version?

It is markably faster than Capture One has been on any Mac I have owned before. So it outperforms the 2018 MBP i7, 2018 Mac mini i7, Mac Pro 2010 12 core 3.44 GHz. It does not outperform a 2019 Mac Pro but should be faster than every other desktop Mac that doesn't have a Vega GPU.

When generating previews after exporting, about 30% faster.

While editing, the preview images is updated almost instantly.

But, when exporting high resolution images, it's about 50% faster.

But in my opinion, the most valuable adition to Capture One's optimization is RAM usage. My Mini is flying with 8Gb! My iMac had 64Gb!

This sounds amazing! I don’t have a M1 Mac so I’m not in a hurry. But if they really release an iPad version this could be a dream come true!

As far as I know, the two codes are similar.

As iPad PROs are running M1 chips, they have to rewrite only the UI layer.
Which is probably a good idea anyway ?

the ui is the only thing I really miss coming from Lightroom

And while I realize I am likely in the minority given its ubiquity, it’s the UI/UX on Lightroom that I really dislike :). I don’t miss it in the slightest. But that said, it will be interesting to see what UI changes C1 makes for the iPad.

Oh sure, that's a very personal thing. But I think that the Lightroom UI, library, all that, is a little more streamlined and more accessible for casual users like me. :)
Maybe we will hear more on Monday, I would buy the Pencil immediately.

Well, just got a mail that says the iPad is coming early 22. That’s still a while but something to look forward to.

Just read that and am very much looking forward to it. I'll also hold off buying a new iPad until Capture One comes out for it incase we get an early 2022 update with a M2 or something.

It's funny that they again started a 40% off sale of 2021. As I said I don't own a M1 so I'm not really in a hurry to upgrade anytime soon, but is this how it's always goes? They release a major upgrade and have it on sale all the time after that release?

Yes, they have a few sales that get bigger until Capture One 22 comes out and then they put a little sale on subscribing. We do the same in my company as it builds up the user base. Some people will only buy when a sale is on and a lot of people are trying to skip 21 as they don't think they'll use the new features. I very much love that I can edit my pictures with a keyboard and scroll wheel instead of a mouse, but that might not be worth the $200 to some folks.

I read some reviews of 21 and while some enhancements sound nice, I can easily wait until next year I think. That would change if I come back to MacOS Apple Silicone of course. I would absolutely want to profit from the improved performance then!

I missed the sale unfortunately, seems like it has ended now.
