Is anyone using Waze in CarPlay? I’m still having intermittent issues with a white screen. Sometimes it’s fine, and other times, it’s a white screen with the zoom controls visible. Just curious. And nothing on the Waze forum about it... but very little there about any iOS betas.

Mine is fine.

To be honest, I think this may come down to the hardware of your iPhone or Car's head-unit. iOS 13 isn't fully optimized yet, and may be more of a resource hog (especially because it no longer virtually mirrors the phone, but is able to simultaneously operate individual apps on both pieces of hardware).

I installed B8 and tried it out on a 6 hour drive today. What a disaster! One time I had the map turn into a pixelated mess, the navigation directions stopped at least 5 or 6 times, the titles of the songs said "No title". All of these fixed themselves by unplugging and plugging the phone back in.
Bar one issue where it was crashing on starting navigation on about PB4 i've had absolutely no issues with Carplay be it maps, music or using Siri to make calls\send messages.

Podcasts app quite frequently shows blank UI for me when first plugging in, opening app on phone clear it though and resumes normal functionality.

My Apple maps no longer give audio prompts. If connected to CarPlay it still lowers the radio but never gives any maps turn by turn audio. It then raises the radio back up after what would have been the turn by turn prompt. This happened right after the 13.2 public beta update. No matter what I try, no auto what so ever from apple maps. Google and Waze maps work though

Carplay works so intermittently it’s dangerous. When i need to be somewhere i don’t need to be fiddling with this and driving.

Download the British voice as a temporary fix.

I use it every day and bar a few issues on one of the beta versions i've had no issues at all with CarPlay on iOS13. Offers me a few routes each times, generally accurate with travel times including showing traffic and any issues on the way.

Mine "works" as far as routing, alternate routes etc. It just does not play ANY audio prompts. In fact it doesn't even play map audio prompts regardless if its plugged into CarPlay or just in my hand. As soon as I updated to 13.2 public beta / no maps audio. I've checked all settings and even rebooted the phone. No go. But like I said Google and Waze maps play audio prompts so its definitely an apple maps issue.

Are you sure you've not got Apple Maps muted? I have it set so it doesnt give me audio prompts as generally i know where i'm going and just use it to keep informed of traffic etc on the route. The fact its not doing not connected to CarPlay points to Apple Maps more than CarPlay.

When you've got directions running you can swipe up the white bar at the bottom of the screen where the arrival time, distance etc is shown and you get the following options :-

If you choose the Audio option the following shows and you can select the level of the audio prompts :-

Mine is set to No Audio as thats how i want it. You can also change it via CarPlay somewhere but i've not done it for a while and think how you do it has changed in iOS13. Used to be top left corner but think in iOS13 you press the up arrow on the white info bar and its one of a few options there.
