here are the claims made by the hack.. which ones are you disputing?

-VoLTE for AT&T MVNOs on the 6 and 6 Plus (experimental)
-APN Editing menu unblocked
-2G, 3G/4G, LTE data menu
-Added security and privacy to your device
-Optimized signal strength (depends on many factors)
-Optimized data speeds (depends on many factors)
-LTE data mode prioritization
-Enhanced roaming capabilties
-Forced Carrier Aggregation Mode for the best LTE speeds on the 6/6+
-"T-WiFi" indicator for T-Mobile WiFi Calling to conserve statusbar space
-Free WiFi access to AT&T and Verizon hotspots for T-Mobile users relying on WiFi Calling

So before you claimed to have gone by what others are saying about getting their dbm readings, and that you were just going by how many bars you had, and didn't even know HOW to get your dbm reading, now you've figured out how to google and searched how to find it, and 20 minutes later you'e claiming you now knew what your dbm reading was before the hack? LOL, classic.

you seem to be confusing me with someone else. you might want to get your facts straight before posting. i simply said that i've been using the fieldtest mode for a while, and my numbers are now much better. someone else may have claimed something else; am only responsible for what i say.

am impressed that my signal numbers and download speed have improved, so am going to assume it was NOT the hack, but simply witchcraft.

Not disputing his list of features. Disputing the fact that several users (unsurprisingly the same ones who seem to not understand how to install or revert), claim that this tweak has given them reception where none existed, or increased the signal strength coming from their carrier's tower.

None said no reception existed..people claim their reception improved.

Precisely what is not possible.

Their PERCEPTION of increased reception, maybe. Reception, NO

So you DO dispute the claims of the hack? Because these all can improve reception.

-Optimized signal strength (depends on many factors)
-Optimized data speeds (depends on many factors)
-LTE data mode prioritization
-Enhanced roaming capabilties
-Forced Carrier Aggregation Mode for the best LTE speeds on the 6/6+

"-Optimized signal strength (depends on many factors)"

No, it doesn't say increased signal strength, it says optimized.

Increased: made or become greater

Optimized: to make (something in this case the signal that exists) as good or as effective as possible

----------

On Verizon's website my city is no listed.

It's no listed ehh?

You do realize those cities are markets, not every city\township in existence, right?

You should call and talk to your carrier and have them explain this to you.

wait.. I thought we were talking about 'reception'. So 'optimized' doesn't imply better or improved?

Sorry I'm not trying to be insulting, but do you not understand the difference between optimization and enhancement? If you optimize your data trunk you make better use of it as it's presented. If you increase your internet connection you aren't optimizing, you're increasing.

I think I figured it out.. you're splitting hairs.

If that's how you see it, so be it. You can use the tweak, I'm just saying don't for a second think it's getting you a cleaner\stronger\more powerful signal which you've implied several times.

Carrier hack patch, get better service/bars from your carrier.

I'm not in the LA market. This is the closest to me.

I have already called them and asked when XLTE will come to the Lancaster/Palmdale area and I was told by the end of the year.

You can't say that my area has been updated based in their website. I'm not in any of those markets.

So you don't think software can 'optimize' the way signals are processed and improve reception?

Done with this. You don't get it. Good luck you guys.

Its a simple enough question. Can software optimize these signals and improve reception or not?

who said ANYTHING about 'cleaner\stronger\more powerful signal'? You are arguing against your own assumptions.

You don't even have a good connection to the network, no, that's not proof. Your own screen shots show a 60-90 ms ping time to the test server at 2 am. Sorry if that's not what I'd call a reliable test.

Lol. Nothing will convince me it isn't working. Because it is. Glad you think it isn't. Sorry it bothers you so much.

Notice they've added a UK section that's pending.

Excellent. Can't wait to give it a go.

i just want to say this is awesome. Increased my reception at home from 2 bars to 4-5 bars and my speed from 3mbps to 15. Thanks rick snagwell!

Can't wait to see what my speed is once i get closer to the city where XLTE is.

Just wanted to state if this hasn't already been said, you must go into your settings and re-enable LTE.

How well is this working with Verizon XLTE?

Is this causing a battery drain on phones?

all i know is... several days in, and my phone has not dropped any calls (usually a daily event at home here), my signal strength db level is better, and my download speed is better. real? imagined? whatever...

Amazingly. I have seen no issues and my battery has been better.

I am debating if i should try it or not.

I get 4-8mbps in my house for some reason and sometimes slip into 3g

Edit: Just applied this to my 6+ and I have 4-5 bars of LTE and getting 15mbps-18mbps in my home. I was able to revert using the link below to make sure it was reversible and got back to Verizon 18.0 with the same PRL I had before. Now I am re applying the hack once again.

Thanks!!

How long did it take after the first boot to find signal?

I tried that method twice and couldn't revert back.

When applying the first initial Verizon_LTE_US_B1.ipcc it took a while 1-2 minutes? My LTE was disabled so I had to change the settings and enable my LTE and set to Voice and Data. I also enabled airplane mode on and off to make sure it would connect to LTE.

When reverting back to stock I deleted the files(Moved to trash with iFile) using the steps in the link and Turned it off let it sit for a minute then turned it on. Then let it sit for about a minute then rebooted the phone again.

I also noticed my iMessage was turned off when I did all this. I was able to enable it and was fine.

This was for Verizon.

Also when testing my speeds I tethered to my laptop and tested my internet speed using http://testmy.net/ since speedtest.net can be manipulated with VPN's which I use pretty often.
