I use an STM laptop bag that I got for free a few years back after buying an eyetv.

It's grey has a few compartments, microfiber lining, backpack and shoulder straps.

Doesn't look like they sell it anymore, but it serves it's purpose for me.

Received lots of compliments on it.

I just bought the "briefcase thin" from these guys and I've never owned such a thick quality piece of leather...look at this one, their satchel, or their messenger bag if you haul a ton of stuff like me. Expensive but easily worth it.

I pre-ordered (3 weeks ago) and just received the 10" Portable Muzetto (black leather/green accent) by SF Bags. This iPad bag is totally awesome! Though admittedly expensive ($199), the superior quality of the materials, workmanship, and fine attention to detail are quickly noticeable. This bag looks appropriate with either suit attire or casual jeans and t- shirt. :)
I became sold on buying one after reading other members rave reviews as well as watching the YouTube video showcasing it below.. The simple messenger bag style functionality (no zippers or latches to impede getting the iPad quickly in and out) , design, and build quality has not only met but has even exceeded my expectations. IMO, Well worth the $199 price if your budget allows. My hats off to Gary (Waterfield Designs) for the terrific service as well.

I've tried different bags, but for some time now I have been alternating between a Tumi Bravo Beale Messenger bag (Black, dimensions: 11.5x10x1.5) and a Tumi Alpha Bravo Knox backpack (black). I really liked the Fossil Estate Canvass EW City bag (dimensions: 12.5x9.5x3) I saw at Nordstrom's on Mother's Day. The bag has a slightly padded pouch for an iPad and has ample of room for stuff.

My Knomo Kobe arrived yesterday and I'm very satisfied so far. It has enough room for my ipad in the "laptop" part, and files and marketing info in the main compartment. I think it will take care of all my needs - yeah!

i use this everyday
and i'm happy with it
not too formal
lots of pocket and looks great

every day i carries :
-BlackBerry 9900 my main GSM mobile + 1 Spare Battery
-Motorola Photon 4G my CDMA mobile

-1 sets of house keys
-1 sets of car keys
-1 pack of Lucky Strike cigarette + 1 lighter
-1 wallet
-1 sets of Audio Technica ear phone.
-1 Parker pen

This thread never ends...

If you haven't found a way to manly carry your iPad, give up, all alternatives are here...:p

It's not that hard guys, goto your local Ross, Marshall, TJ Max, etc. and find yourself a nice $20 bag for your Ipad. I was able to score a Kenneth Cole Reaction bag that is slim but yet still large enough to dance around the Girly-Size boundary. I don't see why anyone would need to spend 200$ on a bag to carry a $500-ish device.

I use an Ogio backpack. It has a bunch of compartments. I can fit my laptop an iPad in one. It even has a protective, padded sleeve to put one in. It has a nice compartment for all of your chargers and even a section for your wallet and pens and pencils. I really like it, I can't bring myself to carry an over the shoulder bag.

Which bag did you end up getting and how much was it? Might wanna stop by Ross after Church tomorrow. :)

This thread is so ridiculously awesome, I can't even handle it.

I just graduated college, and I'm thinking it's about (if not well beyond) time to graduate from carrying around a backpack everywhere.

Just wanted to say thanks for all the great info/ideas!

+1 for this. I got a case logic bag at Ross for $10 that has a pocket for the iPad (or mini) and a separate zip pocket that holds my camera and phone. Also, I am an old guy so people expect me to look odd and don't especially notice what I am carrying.

I also got a $30 Sakroots leather case for the iPad at Staples on sale for $7.50. It's black on the outside and has some sort of loud flowery pattern on the inside. (Did I say I'm cheap?)

I've been using this messenger style bag from Oakley to carry around my MacBook Pro, and iPad around, and it's been going good so far.

That looks really nice. Its bulky enough to not look like a purse (or satchel, lol), yet not overly bulky to be a burden. My laptop bag would be the max of practical I think, its bulkier than that is.

What about the BookBook from Twelve South? Its not a bag, but it does make your ipad look like a book. Personally, I just carry my iPad as it is for short walking trips to nearby places.

It's also not hear to realize that others people's preferences aren't identical to your own.

Need isn't the only concern. If need was all that mattered a lot of people wouldn't have iPads to begin with.

Agreed...the "don't see the need for a expensive case" never did boardroom presentations .....and probably owns two ties...LOL...my bag is not just for the iPad, it's for all my stuff.....

You're right. I don't do boardroom presentations. I'm an electrical engineer and I own 10 ties thank you very much. And I'm sure there are bags out there that are just as suitable for boardroom presentations that doesn't cost $500 like the model you posted above. To each their own. Everyone has a right to spend their money however they choose to. I just dont see the point of it, but thats my opinion. No need to bash others that don't do "Boardroom Presentations". I was just expressing my opinion and hey, it helped some folks that are in the same boat as me as they went to their local Ross and found great deals.

Thanks
