iPhone Check if iPhone is unlocked via IMEI number?

what do you mean I have never heard such a thing.. try putting a sim in from another carrier best way to check.

For some reason http://dev.mk shows Locked status for all imeis now.
There is also http://iphoneox.com, seems it works
iphoneox is showing invalid imei, is there another site ?

The same happened for me today. Turns out dev.mk was wrong. You can also try s-URL.ro
Applejuiced, i chatted with an At&t rep and had my iphone 4 unlocked, he said it was done and i would have to restore. i went ahead with the resore but that message never came up saying that the phone was unlocked. i went to that site that you posted and it says that the IMEI is unlocked.
Do you know why it didnt give me that messge in iTunes? Do i need to do another restore?
I restored a bunch of times my i4 too and never got the message either but works fine with a friends tmobile sim.
So doesnt really bother me.

Official would be via carrier.
Otherwise use a grey market, look for IMEI unlock thread here
Hi everyone! I unlock my iphone 4 to applenberry last friday.. I tried both dev.mk and iphoneox.com to check if my phone is already unlocked and it says from both the said websites that my phone is unlocked already but i haven't received any confirmation email from applenberry.. Hmmm, my question is, why its telling me that my phone is already unlocked? The thing is i haven't receive any confirmation yet..

I've got multiple phones. All unlocked. One was purchased officially unlocked. Two were unlocked by AT&T. The third, iPhone 5, I just paid to have it unlocked.
I've checked three sites, one said "unknown" and now says "locked", another says "unlocked" and the third says "locked". Where do they get the info and who am i supposed to believe? Did I get scammed out of my unlock fee??

So I didn't get any confirmation message from iTunes after following at&t's instructions to backup and restore the phone. I put in another SIM from one of my devices (but also on At&t) and it works. Does that mean the unlock worked? Is the iPhone locked to a particular SIM as well as network or just to network so I need to test with a SIM from another carrier or account?
To test the unlock, you must put in a sim from a carrier other than the carrier who sold the phone.
You have to go through the activation screen on the iPhone once you pull it off I'm sure you figured it out by now.
I purchase unlock service on ebay for my iphone 4.

I'm really not sure how reliable those sites are. Here are my test results.
Both sites say my iPhone 4 is unlocked. Which, should be because contract has ended with AT&T and I've go thru the unlock process as instructed by them. Yet to test with another mini SIM.
One site says my iPhone 4 is locked while the other says unlocked. I paid $24 for an iPhone 5 unlock service, but yet to finish their instructed steps. (Will report back once I do).

I have 2 iPhone 4 that are out of contract, in good standing with AT&T. I called them and am now waiting for the email with the confirmation to unlock.
I have 2 brand new iPhone 5's to replace them. However, I don't know if I can activate my new phones before I unlock my old ones. I want to unlock them to sell. So, my question is, if I activate the 5's, can I still unlock the 4's when I get the confirmation email or does the 4's have to be active for the unlock to work through iTunes.
