Delayed Again?

I have been waiting on this thing for months now only to watch that little red banner change every month. Now it's "Coming May 2014"... Ugh, I give up. What's the next best alternative? Does anyone know WHY this case keeps getting delayed? Anybody heard or read anything?

I've given up as well. There is always a Zagg folio. But I found another keyboard case on Amazon, New Trent Airbender 2.0, not very pretty, but for $20. The next generation might have the same dimensions as the air. And maybe by then clamcase will have released the product.

All I can guess is that they caught a last minute manufacturing glitch. Pretty surprising.

Perhaps, but there's no excuse in not informing via social network. Their twitter and FB accounts have been like ghost towns.
IMO, they've done a really poor job communicating any sort of dialogue with potential and past customers.

Sure agree with that!

i know right?

i gave up months ago when i got a generic email from them fools

i went and got a zaggkeys cover, NOT the folio, the cover! it is a dream, i love that it is black and the back is aluminum or steel (forgot) but matches the space gray iPad Air so sweet sweet sweet. a delight to type on and solid. if you want protection from scratches, well, deal! i've been using it constantly for a couple of months and everywhere you can imagine, it is still in pristine condition.

though i am concerned about the hidge where the device slides into, there are sharp points if you run your fingers along the oposite side of the rubbery hidge area you'll see what i mean it is scary but so far no dings or dents or anything on my perfect iPad Air 128gb wifi beauty!

don't waste your time and money on the clamycase it is slipping out of fashion super quick as it continues to prolong its release, i think i know why they are dragging on, because they know the new ipad is coming out soon, that will give them an excuse to offer a 20 dollar off for the iPad Air case when everyone is then giving it away on amazon or something. then they want new customers to get all excited for their "next best case"! I say WHAT EVER, leave them in the dust..

it is so luxurious to have beautiful color selections for the backlit keyboard on this zaggkeys cover i'm typing on so fast right now, oooooh yes!

Love you all.
Go for the zagg NOT the drag on Clammy Case.

Oh ya and the zagg is super affordable you don't have to skip meals !! HAH!

The Clamcase pro for Ipad air should be available sometime in May 2014. I can't wait.
:D

people and loyal customers have been waiting since February dude. any time now..... hahahahahaa ya, like June next year at a 20 dollar off deal baby!

LoL, May now.. this was first listed as coming in December.

“The ClamCase for iPad Air is expected to be available to pre-order in April and will subsequently ship in late April. As a new product, a lot goes into the design and production. We are working diligently to release the new case.”

This is what I got from a sales rep in late March. So looks like we will be able to pre-order it in May and get the shipment in June.:p

Their website now has more details on the case and no longer says "Coming in May"...probably not coming anytime soon.

I was looking forward to this case also. But now it's at the point where at the end of each month I go "oh yea wonder if that Clamcase is out" and I'm greeted with the same "Coming next month" nonsense.

Now it doesn't even give any month whatsoever. Sounds like they have some problems with the thinner case which worries me. I'm getting tired of waiting and frankly starting to not care anymore.

So, now they are taking pre-orders.. "begin shipping in June" and the price went up to $169.. um...

I got my new MacPro faster than these guys delivering a case.. yikes.

Now it says July. Really tired of waiting, I'll get a zagg later.

Can you say vapourware?
My suggestion is to just walk away as fast as you can from ClamCase.

Obviously there are issues...perhaps strategic, holding out till WWDC to see if the next iPad Air retains the same form factor before going into production.

But honestly, the foldover design is actually not as innovative as other cases which do the same and more. The top of the shell is not even aluminum, but rather polycarbonate. And the $169 price is just, well...too ambitious.

I have emailed back and forth with them. Best discount I can get out of them is $30 off. I told them most of their customers have moved at $169 and the continued delays. I told them I would stay if they offer me the case for $99.

No response yet.

I haven't purchased from this company before and with this kind of time record - how on earth do they stay in business? Their product must be super duper to come to the table this late in the game.

It would be kind of ironic if they FINALLY start shipping and Apple changes the form factor of the Air! I really do wonder what happened here. I have a ClamCase pro for my iPad 3 and one for my rMini, and both work fine, are protective, and have a nice feel.

seriously?

Seriously now friends,
They will have to "pay me" to use that long over due piece of junk.
It could look better, those black circle rubber tabs look so cheap and make the entire thing look really trashy in my critical opinion - seriously. Can't they be more subtle common?! Also - why sooooo many extra keys around the navagational arrow keys, really????

Friends seriously - go with the zagg keys cover it is so sleek and sexy..

You wont regret letting this pass you by serious.

Love you all !!

I have the zaggkeys cover and I'm really happy with it. It makes the iPad Air feel like a mini laptop.

Have you had any problems with double keystrokes? I had the Zaggkeys cover and really liked the design and layout albeit a heavyweight. I kept seeing typos and had to constantly backspace to make corrections. I thought it was just me getting used to a new keyboard but after doing a google search found that others also had the problem with the double letters showing. I ended up returning it for the Logitech Ultra Thin. I actually like the Logitech better. It is quite a bit lighter and the ease of just placing the iPad in the groove or lifting it out is so much quicker and suits my needs better as I switch fairly often from keyboard to no keyboard mode. When I had the Zaggkeys, I found that I was sort of planning when I would switch due to the hinge mechanism.

Both keyboards have the larger keys layout which is really nice.

Now it says "Expected to ship in August" which isn't promising. Still no exact date or guarantee after all these delays. Why would anyone pre-order this thing at this point? It's nearly a year after the iPad Air came out now and there's many other options out there.

I've been using the Zaggkeys case for months now and it's pretty good. Only thing is the hinge has become a little loose. But it still stays in position anyway. It's just when you wiggle the iPad side it will feel loose. Not sure if it'll continue to get worse.

I was interested in Clamcase for the aluminum keyboard area as it would be nice to have even though the rest is plastic. Also the "tablet mode" is useful since the Zaggkeys I have to keep removing the iPad to read or play games. Some were saying there's better cases that do this? Can you guys actually recommend any other cases that do tablet mode that don't feel cheap? Similar to Zaggkeys?

Also, those saying Apple may change the form factor of the next iPad Air, I don't think this will happen. They just changed the iPad so if you are in tune with what Apple typically does then you would assume that the iPad Air 2 will be the same form factor running an A8 processor, more RAM, and the Touch ID sensor. Why change it when they can re-use the same manufacturing and molds? They won't do that until iPad Air 3 or 4.

Sounds like a total scam to me, especially if they are happily taking pre-orders but refusing to communicate and constantly pushing back the release date. I wouldn't trust a dime to a company like that. They appear incompetent and obviously have total disregard for customer service. There are plenty of other keyboard cases out there from companies that actually give a damn.

ClamCase iPad Air

They must not be very good scammers if they are taking pre-orders but not taking money.... that makes sense....

Any who, I placed my pre-order on May 15th and gave them a call on Thursday. Orders are beginning to ship on Monday (2 days from now). I asked about how the site states shipping in August and that applies to orders being placed now because the product appears like it is in some sort of back order stage due to the amount of orders.

I think I ordered on May 12th and my order still haven't shipped yet. And the site says shipping in September now. They almost delayed this product for a whole year.

I had a CC for my ipad 2 and really liked it.

I don't know what the issue is with them now. The air and rmini are close to a year old and they can't get it in gear to release a case.

That new zagg case I posted a few weeks ago will be the death of CC, personal opinion. The ability of separating the case and pad are going to be great.
