Mine delivered today, the design is severely flawed. They didn't leave any space for all the buttons, so when you insert the iPad in, the corner where all the buttons at won't fit into the case, and all the buttons are been pressed. They used hard plastic buttons instead of rubber ones on the original clamcase pro.

It seems they added in a new feature, when you bend the clamshell over 120 degrees open, the keyboard got shut off, which is extremely annoying. Now I can't type when the case is laying flat. I know they probably add this little switch in so you won't accidentally hit the keys when use it as a stand or fold the keyboard complete to the back. But make the switch at 120 degree seems a little bit too small. I can't sit on my bed, fold the case flush to my legs and type.

The hinge is also very loose compare to the original clamcase I have.

As a returning customer, my experience with this new case is not so good. I can't believe the delayed this product for 10 month and come up with this. I'm trying to get a replacement and if it is still bad. I don't see any reason keeping it.

Interesting to hear. Those issues aren't mentioned in any of the reviews I've seen that have just been released. On the other hand, the angle one especially might not be something that everyone runs into.

This keyboard still looks great, but there is no way I can see it being that much better than my Zagg - and I'd definitely miss the backlit keys. I'm sure they are hoping that Apple doesn't change the form factor of the iPad with the next update!

I get why people like the clamcase...it looks like a macbook.
But it's plastic on one side, expensive and now a report of poor design.

I have no affiliation with this keyboard case, but it seems to be better in everyway and cheaper at $129.
The keys are out of the way when flipped and they even throw in a built in stylus. The only downside is that it's shiny black plastic makes it look kind of cheap.

For me the Ultra Thin Logitech keyboard works the best. I originally tried the ZaggKeys and liked it well enough but I had constant issues with double keystrokes - no matter if I typed slow or fast or very careful - still would double stroke. So when I took it back to Best Buy, I actually pulled out my iPad in the store and tried multiple models and brands to make sure I didn't get the problem again with my next purchase - you know how Best Buy's return policy is. Didn't want to risk another return with them for a faulty keyboard.

So anyway, I'm actually glad that the ZaggKeys didn't work, cause I liked the Logitech even better. Not only was the typing a great experience, feel and the results perfect, but the keyboard is quite a bit lighter in weight than the ZaggKeys and it is so much easier to just take off for a quick removal or to easily just drop back in the slot to type. I didn't find the ZaggKeys all that difficult but it's definitely not as easy as the Logitech. FYI - I have the latest Logitech with the slot that moves for multi viewing angles. Just love it. The color white of the keys also perfectly matches the white iPad.

I've tried the Logitech Ultra Slim (not the tilting version) and the Zaggkeys cover and folio and the Clamcase Pros, all for iPad Air and iPad Mini.

I got fed up with the Zagg folios (in white) - the fake leather attracted too much dirt and I had too many missing keystrokes. The Zagg cover is very nice but with no back protection and having to pull out and rotate the iPad each time I wanted it folded back, was a chore. The Logitechs were good, but the keyboard was cramped.

Hands down, Clamcase Pro is easily the best. Heavier, yes, but the quality is top notch both in terms of build and keyboard (easily the best to type on with no double or missing key stokes, ever!). Only issue I have is the battery life isn't great, so it needs a charge every few days.

Anyway, here are some pics of the Clamcases with my WHITE iPad Mini and Air. The Air also undergoes a transformation into a black model, thanks to sticker boy, and the Air Clamcase becomes less white plastic and more brushed silver, looking much closer to a MBP.

Is your iPad air sitting nice and flush with the case? The top right corner where the iPad has the buttons won't go all the way in on mine, so looking from the side of the top of the case, the clam shell is not even straight when I have my iPad in. I send my back a month ago, still have got my replacement back yet.....
