I just use a tissue. I have a skin on it now so I don't get as many finger prints. Pretty sure any soft cloth would be fine

i just use my macbook pro screen cleaner. it is funny to me that the macbook pro comes with the screen cleaner and I never have to use it on that screen yet the ipad doesn't come with one and needs daily cleaning :p.

Handkerchiefs are back in style thanks to iPad

Looks like I will be emulating my grandfather by always carrying a handkerchief with me, thanks to the iPad. Seriously I have found that the black microfiber cloth that came with my MBP works very well, but you need to clean often.

Someone needs to make a flip case that has storage for a microfiber cloth (maybe velcro) so the two are always together. Right now I keep my microfiber cloth on the screen then close the Apple case over it, but this setup needs a way to keep the lid closed, although the inCase convertible looks very promising.

i've noticed that the fingerprints are only really visible from an angle. if someone else is holding it, the screen looks nasty. but from the user's perspective, i rarely feel like i have to clean it immediately.

For the record, Apple covers this in the manual (you can download the PDF on the Apple site). They recommend turning off the iPad completely and using a slightly damp cloth -- not window cleaner, just a slightly damp cloth.

Another option is to throw it in with your laundry, don't use bleach, use the hot/cold setting. Tumble try on gentle. Dry cleaning is not recommended. ;)

iKlear

Every other day I've been using the iKlear spray and cloth - works really well. But agreed - it's mildly annoying to see fingerprints show up all the time, especially when shut off.

If you have a dog just put a few smudges of peanut butter on the screen and he will lick it clean! Works AWESOME!!!!!

Don't bother. The prints come back in two minutes of use anyway. I wonder why apple didn't put that special oleophobic coating to ward of greasy fingerprints like they did on the iPhone 3GS.
As an owner of both an Ipad and an Iphone 3G (and thus definitely no oleophobic coating) trust me when I say the Ipad DEFINITELY has the oleophobic coating. The Ipad is SO much easier to clean than the 3G. Grab a microfiber towel, give it a light wipe, and it's clean. No need even for liquids. Iphone requires much more effort to remove skin oil.

I use an LCD screen cleaner (a spray) and a microfiber cloth. It seems to work great. Is there any issue with using this?

You are removing the oleophobic coating. Just use a dry cloth. Works great. Fingerprints are coming right back anyway so why mess up the coating for a few seconds of fingerprint free viewing?

I've been using the cloth that came with my iphone 3g, and it does wonders. I can clean it off in about 10 seconds, no problem.

Also, when the ipad is turned on I can't see the fingerprints at all, its just when I shut it off.

They did! That's why the prints come off so easily with any cloth.

i have yet to clean it.

way less of a fingerpring Nazi with this thing - i was mental when using an iPhone.

IDK, it just seems that this thing is made to be used and not to worry so much about looks. I will clean it when I clean my iMac.
