Paper Towels are a big no no!

I use a Microfiber cleaning cloth I got with my screen clean gel for my LCD TVs. I use the same thing on my iMacs and my glasses. It works on pretty much anything.

Sunglass cleaning cloth. It's the size of a post card and appreciably close to weightless that it's easy to have in the bag at all times.

Hands down...no doubt...iKlear.

Do a google on iKlear.

Best stuff for the screen and body. Great for iPhone
and laptops too.

The Apple Store even uses this stuff to clean their screens.

I go the MIB route. I had my fingerprints completely removed to eliminate the problem, not treat the symptom. Only thing I worry about now is splash from the toilet.

Yeah, the Optimist Prime is the best. I read NASA uses it ;)

I'm sold on this stuff. I bought it for my iPad 3G, but used it on my iMac and MBP while I'm waiting for the iPad 3G to ship. It gave my two screens the same clean look they had when I pulled them out of the box for the first time. Nice!

I've just ordered a second iPad cleaning kit for work.

Is something like windex bad for it?

I don't know if it's "bad" for it per se, but it doesn't really work. I tried and it left smears all over the place. The screen almost repels the water in the windex. It seems like (as others have said) that a dry microfiber cloth is the best. It removes all of the fingerprints no problem.

But really I put rain x on my original Iphone for the heck of it and couldn't really tell a difference. It was slicker for a bit. Doubt it would be good for the oleophobic coating though.

There's a better way than that - the "Se7en" way: just cut the skin off your fingertips.

I use iKlear and a clean 100% cotton handkerchief. Just spray a little on one part for cleaning and another dry part for drying then toss the handkerchief in the wash. Have a few handkerchiefs on hand ready to go.

I'd be careful wiping off the screen without cleaner. If you have some grit on your phone or pants, that's the best way to scratch the glass.

My favorite is the Monster iClean, but I mostly use RadTech OmniCleans. It works well and an 8oz bottle costs $15. That's about the cheapest I've found. I prefer the iKlear microfibers, although the Optex cloth is pretty nice. You just can't put it in the wash.
