With so many adapters available now, many in the $15-$20 range, I don't understand the obsession with Click, Stainless Steel for $35.

Is is just because they all backed the Kickstarter? How is it going to be any better than the adapters available right now?

Good question. I was wondering why 3rd-party adapters haven't used a spring/tension bar like the Click. I have one of the adapters with the teeny screws and would prefer the ease of the Click but I lack patience. I think it's so popular because of the very public Kickstarter. I'm also cheap and got my adapter for $15 shipped off of eBay.

I've been reading about quality control issues with the adapters out now - screws that don't stay tight and fall out, poor fit, gaps between the bar and watch, etc. Seems like Click wants to get it right the 1st time. I respect that but not enough to wait until mid-June.

I think since click has a spring pin, it will be easier to swap bands than finding the tiny pentalobe screwdriver and taking everything apart, then putting it back together. At least that is why I like the Click adapters. And they are supposed to be matching aluminum too.

I pledged for them on kickstarter, but their latest updates with the indecision regarding band sizes (still! at this stage of production) makes me question about their process and the quality of the final product...guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Todays (or last nights) update seems that they have finally decided on size. And their explanation for the hesitation seems reasonable.

My issue is that I'd guess 90% of people only want the adapters, but Click has spent a lot of time on the bands, which are bound to be cheap that I would rarely actually use. But I could be wrong. I will say, I came out well with all the stretch goals. I did 2 adapters + 2 bands for $40 +$5.00 shipping. As it turns out I will get (hopefully, at some point) 3 adapters and 4 bands and no charge for shipping. I did get both dark link bands as I really want a link band (that is the type band I have been wearing for years). While I know there are quality 3rd party link bands out....I'll likely start with these.

Yeah I'm glad they're addressing the issue with the latest update. Problem was not just the bands before but that they were also leaving get adaptors at 22.2mm which means regular 22mm bands we buy would also have a gap. Big they're fixing all that now too which is promising. :)

Yes and some other adapters take 24mm bands. In fact, I have a 24mm band on the way.

Going to have to keep track.

I'm disappointed my new 24mm band won't work with my Click, which I'm expecting to be a far superior adapter.

Shame.

I actually think Click is kind of ugly. The adapter sticks out too much. It also looks too straight. It's not sleek or elegant, its design is robotic and stiff in a way.

I ordered mine off their website a week or two ago, so there's no telling when I'll get mine. I'm looking at bands on strappedfortime.com

My big problem with them is customer service, or lack there of. I sent them an email, and NEVER got a reply back. So far, I'm out $50 on an order I made a month and a half ago. With no explanation, or response to my query.

I appreciate they're busy but you're right, 0 customer service which should really be a focus point when you've got thousands of yet to be fulfilled orders.

They selectively reply to people in the Kickstarter comments if you want to give that a try, failing that I've had one response from Brandon over Facebook

I so want to be wrong but I don't see this project working out well.
The whole thing with the band size was a mess.
That they needed their backers to tell them that the gaps in the width looked bad does not bode well. Good on them for listening but that was such a non-starter that it never EVER should have even been shared. Those pictures are an embarrassment and they're still up there.
That plus their reminders that the adapter itself is still just a 3D prototype and that the actual adapter will have improved aesthetics.
They should be focused on the adapters and getting them manufactured and not still dicking around with band widths and band materials.
They've lost their way and cheaper better-looking options are going to beat them to the punch.
The bands bring them much more profit than the adapters -- I get that.
But the adapter was what people wanted and now Click will be just an other "also-ran".
I love that they say they're going to be material and color matched.
I love that they say they're going to be American made.
I just don't have faith that they're going to be able to make it happen.

So far they're the only adapter of note offering space gray and aluminum options, not just black or silver steel.

Agree with all. In particular, they should have focused on the adapters not the bands. Personally, I don't understand why "everyone" is loving all these cheap, crappy straps. There are already, high end, well established, beautiful bands out there that are much "better" than anything that Apple offers and yet much less. You can get (and have been used on high end watches for years) high quality leathers, skins, fiber, Kevlar, rubber, nylon, link style comfortable bands right now (most are in the $40-$75 range). We just need a way to get them on AW. Heck, I'm even wanting to harvest a band from a watch I've been wearing (pre-AW).

I think Click is in trouble with these new adapters using spring pins out already:

Cheaper, and I'll be getting mine next week.

No gray or black..no sale

Can you pull now that they have funded? I've never tried to pull from a crowd-source and don't know how that would work.

I was in for 2 adapters and 2 bands for $40 + $5 shipping. Thanks to stretch goals, I will get 3 adapters and 4 bands and no shipping. I honestly have no real "hope" for the bands. I just want quality, good looking, secure, adapters. I'm assuming all their bands will be $5 bands available from Walmart that I wouldn't want to put on my AW. It will be a pleasant surprise if I'm wrong, but that is my assumption.

I didn't go the crowd funding route. I just went to their site

I am also wondering how I can pull out from click. Anyone here has any clue?

Mid-June, guys. To fill thousands of orders. With seven people.

It's worse than when you were waiting for your watches! Mid June was the pushback date, I'd give it time. They may have been a little optimistic, as they admitted.
