I will. But if I could pick any phone to use, it wouldn't be the 8 Plus, it would be the iPhone 5 running iOS 6. Of course that isn't an option anymore because developers are full of themselves and stopped supporting it.

Now who is full of themselves in declaring that "developers are full of themselves and stopped supporting it".

PS, I think IMHO you should have reworded that and not used that exact phrase.

I used iOS 9 for the longest time - I can't even remember precisely what iOS6 looked like. My 3GS (gifted to GF after I switched to the 4S) maxed out with iOS 6.1.6 apparently). How anyone would want to go back to that thing is really a mystery to me.
It was OK-ish at the time, but it was already showing its age.

iOS 12 has sooo many options, compared to iOS9. It's unbelievable. You can spend hours diddling with it...

The beauty of iOS was always its simplicity - now we're even getting options to control which websites can access the gyroscope and the accelerometer - which is a good thing, but all the options add-up over time.

Did things really change that much since iOS 9? Seems like while some new/modified things certainly appear here and there I don't think it's really on the level where there's that huge of a difference between iOS 12 and iOS 9 as far as options and how much time can be spent changing them.

Well said. This is what Apple wants to execute, is simplicity. This what the consumer wants, is consistency and ease of use, Both of which iOS meets those standards. iOS has expanded into more control options, which has a nice addition utilizing that with 3D Touch.

Except they are. Isn't that obvious? Even before the 64bit requirements, I read many on here saying they would not support iOS 6 in future updates. That's where I got that from. I guess its a different story now.

I hate the camera bump.

Before the iPhone 6, camera bumps were an issue for Apple's competitors, now it seems that all phone makers including Apple have embraced the bump.

I agree with the OP on this. What is the point of having the phone a tiny bit thinner, if the camera sticks out? It seems like that extra space could of been used for something else such as more battery.
Not Samsung their cameras are slim compared to the iPhones
