i was at a concert downtown and i wanted to take a picture of the stage and the band so i whipped it out and took a picture and everyones eyes around me lit up and people in front of me turned around and looked at it so i quickly snapped the shot (which was pretty good by the way) and put my iphone back in my pocket with my hand over my pocket the rest of the nite lol

its pretty cool it seems everywhere i go when i take my iphone out passersby always try and get a quick look at it

I haven't been showing it off much, but today I took my daughter to her doctor and showed him before he came in to see her. He runs an all Mac office, and uses Filemaker to write his own patient database. I should give credit to his mother, who introduced him to Macs in the 80s. About five people there gathered around to see my iPhone. Four of the five are going to buy one, and kept coming back to ask me questions about it.

The other day my neighbors came over and knocked on my door just to look at my phone. I haven't talked to them in over a year, and now they loooooooooooove me after I gave them a demo. Thank you Apple.

You know, I keep wondering, do people just not realize they can play with one at an Apple or AT&T store?

I mean, some people act like the iPhone is some mystical artifact that they'll only see once in their lifetime

And yeah, I've also noticed people seem afraid to touch the iPhone. I had to literally shove mine into the hands of a co-worker who wanted to see it. :)

A week ago I was sitting in the blazing hot sun at a car show and this older gentleman exclaimed, "IS THAT THE NEW APPLE iPHONE??" It scared me very badly and I said yes.

He continued to tell me how he sold Macs for 20 years (back in the Apple II days) and was a teacher who operated a lab of G5 iMacs (sweet.) He retired a few weeks ago. It is suprising to hear that where I live (West Tennessee) there was a guy who sold Macs so long ago.

He summed up his life story by telling me how hot the iPhone was and to keep a good eye on it.

And I let this girl in the hair salon play with it.

"OMG is that what I think it is?"

"Can I touch it?, *taps finger on screen annoyingly*"

"wow that thing looks nice and hard, do you think it can fit in my mouth?"

:p

I was at an Astros Game a few saturdays ago and I kept playing with it while enjoying the game and the nachos and By the 7th inning the girl behind be I think was turned on so much by my multi touch wizardry that she gave me field box ticket for sundays game because she could not use it. I told her thank you and let her hold it for an inning. The phone I mean.

Go Astros, Time to make a push to the world series as always!

Your first mistake was going to an Astros game...=D

That bullpen is horrible..and I even like the 'Stros.

I'm sure the iPhone will, the question is whether they imprint some of that on you...

I haven't had any "pick ups" yet due to my iPhone though.

Has anyone gotten a date or...you know...due to his or her iPhone?

I think the day I got it, everyone in my office asked to see it and play with it. It was hilarious.

Lidge is off the DL now, that should help.

Would like to see him regain his old form.

ok, enough non apple stuff, I apologize /bow /bow /grovel

i agree id love to see the lights out lidge from back in the day. but counting on that is kinda like resolving a stuck pixel.

I wonder if apple would exchange lidge for a new one?

j/k i think lidge is making a come back and will close out the WS07 for the stros this year.

back to apple stufff. I am going to try and pick up a girl with my iphone. this should be fun.!

Hmm I'm not sure the warranty would cover any damage that might result from such a maneuver.

hahah good thing i bought it with my AMEX not only do I get points but I get extra insurance if i drop it.

speaking on insurance. has att even thought of a plan.

even better has apple even come out with apple care for it?

I've only shown it to one person in public.. I was showing my dad at lunch one day and the waitress said "Is that that new phone?!" and I was like "Yep! Sure is!" and I showed it to her. She thought it was awesome but said it would stay in her dreams at $600 lol

similar thing happened to me the other day. Was ordering my favorite dish of pickled liver and the waitress inquired about the iPhone I was using. Next thing I know, the owner is over at my booth checking out his favorite baseball team's score. Oh, and the check? it was on the house :D

I was at a party the day after it came out and I had it in my pocket. I promised my girlfriend I wouldn't whip it out unless someone brought it up. Of course the second it got brought up, I whipped it out of my pocket....one person after another came over to check it out. At some point almost half the people at the party were gathered around me checking it out. I kept hearing people say, "come here, you gotta check this thing out!" It was actually pretty exciting at the time. I'm never the life of the party, but for those few moments in time, I WAS the party....LOL
Work that first Monday was difficult too as people keep coming into my room to check it out. Many of them have since gone out and switched from Sprint to get one. The response over this thing has been incredible!! Needless to say I have gotten quite good at demo's. I agree with a previous poster, Apple should pay me a commission because I have sold at least ten of these suckers without even trying really. Damn thing is cool. Go Apple :D

The most common response I get is: "Is that an iPhone?"

Some other ones include, "You always have the latest gadget", if the person actually knows me.

I usually just carry it with me when I'm sending off emails or text messages. Otherwise it'll be in my pocket while I listen to music. The only tell-tale sign that I have an iPhone might be the little speaker in the earphone cord. I must admit, walking in San Francisco while listening to music and sending off an email does give me looks from some people, but 'tis all good. Hehe.

It's San Fran, listening to music and sending an email shouldn't even be a blip on peoples' "weird" radar.
