guys the info i had posted was unfortunately incorrect. The issue has nothing to do with the memory id's, sorry for the inconvenience. I still hope a solution will released soon though

Well what a waste.
:confused:

My iMac 24" 2.4GHz is an occasional freezer.

ioreg -l | grep ATY | grep Mem
| | | | "ATY,MemVendorID" = <0600>
| | | | "ATY,MemRevisionID" = <0100>

Built in Shanghai, China
Built between 08/10/07 & 14/10/07

Find out when and where your iMac was built with coconutIdentityCard 2.2 from http://www.coconut-flavour.com/

I also wasn't trying to make this any less than it is. It seems this freezing issue is becoming less problem. Mine was solved by replacing the iMac. Possibly some of the updates have worked. One would think there would be a lot more noise if it wasn't getting better.

The Leopard/1.3 combo fixed it for me. Absolutely no freezes since I updated.

Well, we keep getting fed these little tidbits like "a fix is definitely coming, yours, Steve." There are definitely a lot of us out there who still have problems, and I speak for at least one case where taking the machine in for repairs means losing important productivity time.

Granted, I could probably get a sizeable fraction of that back just from not being able to read the forums!

Freezes both on macosx tiger and windows xp :(

ATY, MemVendorID = <0100>
ATY, MemRevisionID = <0900>

No freezing so far... Running Leopard and all updates are installed.

No Lockups but other problems

"ATY,MemVendorID" = <0100>
"ATY,MemRevisionID" = <0900>

I have had no lockups:) but the wireless mighty mouse has froze on me a couple of times after waking from sleep(can still shut down using conrol + eject):( and the isight has stopped working before when the top gets really hot (happened today but i just let it cool down a bit and it started working again:)).

I have had issues with iphoto when i try to edit photos it occasionally freezes and I have to force quit (Even with the latest update):(.

MemVendorID = 0600
MemRevisionID = 0100

Froze 1 time
tried to replicate it but it doesn't happen any more
hoping it was nothing

Thats a real disappointment :eek:
Just as I thought we were finally getting somewhere with this :(

Not had a freeze yet (touch wood) running leopard since bought on leopard launch day.

That's what I thaught. I upgraded to leopard with update 1.3 and it seemed a lot more stable. However I still had a freeze yesterday, so it's definately not solved in my case.

bummer...
