Just had an online chat with a UK Apple Store rep and asked what time the UK iPad pre-orders would go live. He advised that this information was not available as yet however if you have signed up for email updates you should receive an email about when exactly pre-orders would be taken. I also asked whether this email would be sent in advance of the pre-orders going live and he advised that it would.

In my experience Apple's notify emails usually arrive about a week late-so expect to receive your email on or around the 17th..The "Notify Me"option seems to be there just to harvest email addresses for marketing purposes.

As regarding time i would not have thought that pre-orders would go live until around mid morning 9am'ish?.I cant remember what time of day they were allowed to start pre-ordering in the States.

Maybe one of our US members can remind us?

So 100 quid to upgrade a Wifi only model to Wifi + 3G. Seems a bit steep really. "An unbelievable price' my arse.

Agreed. The price is steep for the 3G upgrade. And the OrangeUK press release, the prices of 3G doesn't seem that good either.

£15 a month for 3GB of data. I only pay £10 a month for unlimited data on my iPhone. (also with orange)

But we do have higher tax than America and it costs more to get it from china or wherever they are made now.

I will be pre-ordering on monday 32gb WiFi only.
Jailbreak iphone and use mywi for the small amount of time i will be using it outside of a hotspot.

1. Hehheh. But Apple store responses don't have a good track record on accuracy.

2. Actually there are a lot of queries about US pre-order windows in this thread - and I'm keen to hear the answer myself!

In case anyone is wondering Apple's discounts in the UK HE store don't extend to the iPad.

Makes sense as the rest of the iPod Touch range don't have a discount either.
