Interesting....

Do you have an iPad Air or iPad mini that has been used less since acquiring your 6+? Would your iPads get more use if you want back to a smaller phone?
I don't, I have an old iPad that gets occasional use, but that hasn't changed since getting the plus. Overall I probably use the phone a bit less than I did with the smaller one's just because the large size is more inconvenient to pull out quickly, and if I'm going to be spending a long time browsing the internet I'd rather use my laptop.

I'd switch because I want to transfer some of my money to Apple, and this seems like a good way to do it. :D

Seriously, though, I want a phone that will give me wifi calling with AT&T in the size and weight of the 5s (weight being more important).

My son (15) wants one. He says my iPhone 6 is too big and likes the smaller size similar to his iPod. I was ready to upgrade him to a 6s. My mom also seems to like her 5s so she will likely get the SE as her upgrade. ATT should still be offering there b1g1 deal so if I get one for free (through credits) no complaints here. att is offering the s7 now in their offer so hopefully they will also include the SE as part of their offer.

I am shocked at how many of those polled would be upgrading from devices with 4" screens or smaller: 22 votes equaling ~35%. Interesting.

I'm wondering, why can't apple have three iPhones (SE / 6s / 6s +) with basically the same specs, but different sizes for the consumer to choose from ?

Same CPU/GPU, with same TouchID, Same SIRI and Camera but with different battery and screen size. They already have the iPhone 6s and 6s + with basically the same spec's. Why not 3 to choose from this time around ?

Basically same specs =/= same specs though.

My conspiracy theory is that they always want to have flagship device(s) with more specs (read: premium price). They can't justify charging $100 more just for a bigger screen, so they include OIS, battery life, etc.

I postulate that they'll try to sell the SE at a lower price point, so it won't have the highest end specs.

I lost my Iphone 5s, which was my perfect phone. Without thinking I bought the 6s as replacement. I am not happy with the big size, it is clumsy with running/ fitness and not comfortable for 1 handed use. The iphone SE would definitely my ideal phone if it is just a 5s body with upgraded specs. I wish that the volume buttons will mimic the remote controls of the earpods, like the latest ipod nano. This wil be perfect for music playback, but this will not happen of course.

If it has 2gb I will be very very tempted. If it has 1g ram I won't be downgrading from my 6s.

I love the speed and fluidity of the 6s but despite owning it since October I still think it's too big. When I make a call I feel like I've got a big slab of a thing next to my ear, not a phone.

So I'm very interested in the new 4"
Model. But it will all depend on specs. Im not paying out more money for a downgrade.

The big question, will be when will we find this out? I mean will Apple mention this next week on the product rollout?

To my knowledge, they've never announced RAM in a keynote, have they? They still don't mention it here: http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

I imagine we'll have to wait for the iFixit teardown, but if rumors are to believed, the SE's will be immediately available, so we shouldn't have to wait for long.

You're shocked coz people prefer using small screen phones over a "giant brick phone"? or shocked coz some people using their phones to the end, or as long as its doing the job for them ?

"Coz" either or both. You're obviously a bit jaded; though I'm not sure why.

That aside, it's interesting to me that so many folks on here are still using the devices "of yore."

Are you a leprechaun, midget or a dwarf? NO? Then it's not too big. Especially the 4.7".

I'm simply referring to physical capabilities of a human hand.

Well still wrong. Without moving your hand the 4.7 is still not that comfortable to use.

There's a reason why Apple said the 3.5 and 4 inch screens were perfect for that.

I agree that media is better consumed on a bigger screen but not everyone watches movies on their phones either.

Yes, most people are capable of using a 4.7" phone, but "capable of" may not equate with "comfortably" at the same time.

I'm using a 6s now, but may switch to a smaller 4" phone the next time around if it were spec'd right.

What's wrong with that?

I'd love it if Apple would shrink the bezels all around and maybe do away with the home button while keeping the 4.7" screen, but until that happens...I could think of several reasons why a 4" phone may be desirable.
