I have a phone. I have a computer. I have a laptop.

Do you really even care what kind they are? Does it matter in any way to you what products I own? Unless you're a shareholder of said company, the answer is no.

Iphone was revolutionary in 2007, but the first problems started with Apple forcing people to buy locked phones from expensive selected carriers. New Iphones don't force you to use one specific carrier anymore, but some people lost a lot of money with these practices.

Many years went by, and Android is a beautiful, mature, open system with lots of innovation. IOS is, for me at least, boring and old. And Iphone design hasn't evolved much for many years. It reminds me of the 1990s, when Mac OS started stalling and Windows was improving, all the way to XP. Then things changed again.

Now I only use Mac computers, and would not ever consider switching. I am happy with my Ipad, but my phones are 100% android devoces, with Google docs, mail, and drive.

I only use icloud for Apple Pages, which I still like. For the rest, it's not working well for me. Even the name "Icloud" as an extension for an email address is just ugly in my opinion.

I most certainly agree with your assessment. As a very loyal Apple customer of two decades, it's a bit sad to see the results of Apples burning desire for profits, as that singular goal trumps their ability to produce really fine products.

Quality control has declined, innovation is but a shadow of what Apple is truly capable of, and reorganization seems to be the word of the day. Now as they lash out with vicious legal assaults, taking precious time away from positive moves, and a focus towards leading in tech instead of just keeping up, it's anyone's guess just where Apple is headed.

I think this is why some people are becoming disenfranchised with Apple. The lawsuits are leaving a sour taste, and the competition is, at this point, ironically innovating faster and more than Apple is. I've seen more innovation come out of the S3 and the Note II -- two phones I'll never own, by the way -- than anyone else at the moment.

It's been said that Apple is playing catch up, and I don't think there's any clearer evidence of that than the offerings of iOS 6. So many iOS devotees used to tout the importance of innovation and how that's a big reason to stay with Apple. Now, they've back-peddled a bit on that (refusing to recognize anyone else as innovating; calling new features "useless"), and are just focusing on the few things Apple still does best.
