Replaced my 64GB WiFi. Random noise when switching from apps is gone. Dice with Buddies still sounds nasty, must be an app issue.

Interesting that the replacement iPad restored at least 5 times faster and also seems to run much faster.

I'm thinking of doing it but not 100%. I like the screen of it

Did you buy it at the Apple Store ? If so did you set up an appointment at the Apple Store or just asked for an exchange ? Also did you get a new one ? If so do you need to bring everything with you ?

Original bought off Apple.com. Just walked in store and did an exchange. No appointment. Didn't bring charger or cord, told them to keep them from the new unit. Exchange was for a new unit - exact same model.

Crackling noise

Ah might just walk In tomorrow I don't feel like going back to the 24/7 store since it was always crowded whenever I went there

----------

Also not 100% I want to ...I mean do I really want to go through this return game again ? It only does it a few times

Also did you bring the box ?

Went to the store and needed an appointment... Smh

I'm still thinking its a bug, not defective hardware. Between here and the Apple forums, too many are reporting this and a few reported replacements are doing the same thing.

If it's software how comes it's only doing it while charging

Just got my new one after sitting in the Genius bar area for 30 minutes and got told to go downstairs to ask for a simple Exchange which could of been avoided if the Lady who told me I had to set an appointment up just told me i can just exchange it in the first place could of saved me about 3 hours of my life but oh well. New one is Perfect without this popping or crackling noise

First one never had it and had it for 2 days, 2nd iPad had it and heard it when i got Home and plugged it in and this one is plugged in and nothing.

I never had it when it was plugged in, and only a few times over the course of a week when using it on battery.

It happened to me today just two times, in ten minutes two times, but no more.
I think is software, or any app tryng to make a noise, or some website trying to play any video...or any advertise, or whatever.

Everyone mentions a crackle sound, is it like a a pop sound? My iPad air 2 has popped a few times before start of sounds or random times on web pages. I restarted it and it went away for a day or 2 then happened again. Hoping it is a driver issue initializing the sound hardware after sleep or something. I know years ago we had this popping problem on the Mac with I think os x 10.6 or earlier. Was resolved with an update.

Yes, it is like a pop sound random...u never know when it is going to sound. Mine, two times the second day, and one the third...until now.
To be honest, i dont know if it is doing again or not because i have not my ipad at my side all day long.

Yeah I've had it twice in a short span (10 min) like a popping noise but never again and never before. Have had the iPad for 6 days now. Don't think its worth exchanging for, is everyone just keeping theres or are they exchanging it?

I'm getting the same thing. Like many others also not sure whether to go for a replacement or not...

My iPad Air 2 was having the same issue so I took it back to Best Buy to return it. I then got a new one at the Apple Store and I have not had any issues since getting a new one.

It is software issue, that makes the speaker make a pop sound.
Mine did it 2 times, but i have not hear it since 2 days ago.
A friend of mine, have another air ,and gappnes the same. So it is a software issue.

I'm getting these sounds as well, it usually happens when an app makes a sound like a notification click of a key press - but not always.

I was able to reproduce the pop sound. Perhaps somebody else can confirm this when doing the following:

1. Play a song in the Music Player.
2. Open Settings/Music/Equalizer.
3. Select different presets while the song is still playing. Quite often I get the pop sound before the new equalizer setting becomes effective, especially if switching between "Late Night" and "Latin".

I assume it's a software issue.

Heard it for the first time last night. The moment I clicked the URL bar of Safari I heard a loud pop from speaker. Odd

I replaced mine original Air 2 because of a pink hue issue and it also had the crackling issue too.

The replacement is flawless. I have noticed 2 instances of crackling but nothing that really concerns me.

My replacement iPad restored almost exactly as yours did.

It happens constantly on dice with buddies. I uninstalled. Same thing. I even installed the free version....same popping and crackling. Anyone else want to test? So annoying.

Speakers do need time to bed in. Bit like headphones etc. May just need a bit of time if it's not software.

It's not (high profit) audiophile equipment we're talking about here. If the speaker/headphones for Apple products don't work out of the box, then it's more than likely a defect.

I've heard it a few times too. I'm betting it is a software issue (or a hardware issue that can be worked around via software). It isn't to the point of being annoying so I'll wait a bit and see what happens.
